That isn't even the worst of it. There is a bug that is causing players(including me) to not be able to load in to the activity. It says "a member of your fire team has not communed with light and dark". Nobody knows what the problem is, but in searching I found it's quite common, yet Bungie says nothing. I suspect it's a paywall because I only bought the $50 version instead of the legendary version. If that's the case, it's yet more deceptive b.s. from Bungie.

Exactly this !! This has completely soured the last week of this DLC and honestly my last 10 yrs with destiny. I know sounds extreme, yeah it is. Then coming here to forums and being told to "get gud, skill issue, too bad, leave, and worse" Really great inclusive community here.... really makes me wanna stay. The class item was sold as a major selling point of DLC and now this. nope. I see a few solutions, because as more people find out this I think more will be pissed or quit game. Make the mission have options, an easier mode, no timer maybe. Or just unlock the exotic class item to start dropping from Overthrow or better yet like OP suggested put it as a possible drop in 12 player end story thing. I would imagine some folks just getting to finish that story mode weeks from now are gonna get to the 12 player part and nobody online will be still doing that so they will get a 2 player event or sit in orbit for 30 minutes looking for 11 people doing that final mission.

I don't raid. I therefore do not expect to get raid weapons and armour without raiding. I have hardly done any Dungeons and I don't expect to get Dungeon armour and weapons with doing Dungeons. But this class item was marketed by Bungie as being an integral part of a new subclass. They emphasised how important it was and not once was it mentioned that it would be hidden behind a quest, let alone this tedious raid mechanic chore that has to be done with only two people. On each character. And this isn't simply a weapon or exotic armour piece as it gives you the benefit of two exotics, it's an integral part of the Prismatic class and your character and I bet Fireteam Finder will shortly be full of "must have exotic class item or kick". This is going to be a game soon with two tier Guardians. Those with the class item and those without.This item is basically a permanent character boost. Final Shape has dialled up the difficulty way beyond what was needed. The grind has gone the same way, six missions on all three characters just to get your Prismatic subclasses, Aspects and Grenades. The tedious Micah quests that have us replaying stuff we have done multiple times before. The Fragment quests. Nightfalls starting at 1995 power. Pathfinder funneling you into doing specific tasks in specific activities. The Raid and Dungeon power changes, for those who care about that sort of thing. I played a bit and even Vanguard Ops is everything shooting you all at once, all the time because it's just battleground after battleground. It's been a week since launch and as the new seasonal event is just the same as all the other "Kill this, dunk that, do it again, kill boss" ones I am basically checked out, even the seasonal quest is time gated. I can live without hearing Failsafe every time I run the event. Lightfall was initally well received as was Final Shape but this is starting to change. The reality of this game being filled with stuff like this quest is just masking the fact that it's a pretty hollow experience. Stuff like this shows that this game is now aimed solely at the hardcore player and those not onboard with that do not matter anymore, it's just an attempt to force people to get cosy with raid mechanics for some reason. People do not raid because they cannot be bothered with the tedious mechanics and a raiding community that is far from welcoming. The loot is noit worth the hassle of raiding for a lot of players. This quest is just more of the same. I play games for fun. This game is no longer fun. It's a never ending stream of busy work for no other reason than to give you some hoops to jump through. There is zero reason for the class item to be hidden behind that mission. None. It should have dropped on each charcater at the end of the 12 man mission with a standard roll, the mission should be for getting random rolls. That way the much derided casuals are not at a disadvantage and the hardcore, or anyone in fact, can grind away to their hearts content for the rolls they want. I genuinely regret buying this expansion. My time in Destiny is already dropping away as there is no reason to stay around for the Echoes that are just rehashed, and even more time gated, seasons. Why is the Red Death catalyst in Act 2 for instance ?? Plenty more games to play that are fun and don't make me feel like this. I'm out.

Before anyone makes fun of someone saying they have PTSD from an online community, I have had multiple stalkers and two of them have actively tried engineering my suicide. One of them ended up being someone I knew irl and even was drugging me while we hung out to chemically induce psychotic episodes to get me committed when he learned I wasn't the type to kms even at my lowest because I'm willing to suffer for the ones I love. I, personally, get a lot of anxiety when someone actually wants to talk to me because it makes me feel like they must be trying to exoloit or hurt me through deception. It's a real thing and it isn't a joke. Some of y'all out there are -blam!- crazy.

Bungie knows the fan base. They knew some would love this and some would hate it. If all exotic weapons were locked behind raids half the solo fan base wouldnt have bought this game. And then even more. Because most dont do raids. Lastly the same people telling you to lfg will kick you from group after they shoved you off a cliff becauase they are so worried about being 1st that even their own teammates dying doesnt matter.

Imo, when it comes to raids, you SHOULD have to form a Fireteam. Dungeons, I think it's very recommended to, but if you have the skill, you can solo it. Everything should be TECHNICALLY soloable. Even if the mechanics don't allow for it.

I generally feel that certain weapons being locked behind such things is fine. In this case, it is NOT fine. It's just not acceptable due to how Bungie promoted this item as a reason prismatic will be useful and how they didn't reveal the parameters required to get the item until week 2 when refunds probably won't happen. They promised this item as if it were available like Red Death or would just randomly drop from the campaign or from the new area. It's shameful. This is why Bungie has a rating of 1.4 at the BBB.

Nobody is [b] forcing [/b]you to do anything. The terms are laid out. Find a friend and play, or miss out. That's how it works.

Now ptsd from communities is a reason why you can't do a 2 man, 30 min mission? Lol I swear. Next, someone gonna say they can't do it cause they are scared of even numbers lol.

You know what I would love to see along side every post that’s says “Just LFG it” is maybe offers to help some of the people who aren’t necessarily proactive in regards to asking for help. Maybe you can actually see people’s attitude change about the entire process if the entry were friendlier.

I don’t understand this “major selling point of the dlc” argument. It’s in the game you can go get it? It’s literally two exotic perks in one exotic. It’s a really strong piece of gear why should you just be able to get it easily?

What’s most striking is that there are a lot of solo players in D2 and everyone knows it!! if we paid for content and can’t get it, whose fault is it? why do you constantly force us to do things we don’t want? then you should have warned before taking money from us that you won’t be able to complete some content in solo past the raid!!! it just sounds like a scam... in no other game have I ever seen such an attitude towards your community thanks to which you are still do exist...

Back in D1 I used to be a solo player all the way up to when they released the swords during TTK. The strike to get the swords was just say hard enough to need a little bit of coordination with your teammates. Because of that 1 mission I got out of my comfort zone and started contacting people which lead to me making friends. Because of those friends one thing lead to another and I ended up getting headphones and a mic, something I used to scoff at. This opened up raids, Trials and even more friends. Bungie aren’t trying to force you to do something diabolical they are simply trying to open up the best Destiny experience for you. Because believe it or not Destiny is way better with friends.

I personally think its hilarious all the "break it because I can't do it" that takes place in PvP and now people are condescending to people that can't do the duo mission. Hilarious! HA!
