Yes. The goal of the game is to get the highest light level. If every single player can only do that by having the exact same armor (exception: 1 exotic) than that is pretty lame. It renders every single other piece of gear completely useless. The fact is, the gear you have should not be what determines your light level. Your light level should be applied to any gear that you want. That way, every 32 won't look exactly the same. How do you do that? Off the top of my head, instead of getting a piece of armor and leveling it up, you just have a specific area (head, chest, arms and legs) that you are constantly upgrading. Maybe you get drops or something to get new upgrade bubbles or you buy upgrades from vendors. Basically any way you get upgradeable armor now, you would get upgrades for this. Then you buy/drop any gear that you think looks good or really like and voila, that chest piece, for example, is automatically a 36 light level. The problem with this for bungie would be that you are only having to level up one constant thing rather than receiving something new and having to start all over again, which could decrease player time, but I'm sure this sort of system could be tweaked. Just my two cents.
