Snes games were only $20 then also. Major difference between games and hardware. They have technology today to fix games and it is well within our rights to make complaints about games. If you don't like the complaints you could always skip and not read what they say. Abd games back in the day had a whole lot more levels "cobtent" to them. You could take a few months to beat Super Mario. Destiny all of 2 days I believe it is somewhere around 18hrs of story mode. Huge difference

Games now have never been cheaper. You say the game's were 20$ then, but guess what that was equivalent to 70-80$ by today's standard. You see 20$, but you don't consider the economy then and now. As I said, games have never been cheaper than they are now.

To be honest, those games weren't that long. Unless it was an RPG or a Zelda like game, maybe metroid, or metal gear, you could probably beat it in a single sitting. The games were designed in a way to extend content via artificial difficulty, and progression gimmicks/ mind games.
