Microsoft and Sony should prepare for a mass influx of new customers beforehand. Instead they chose to combat the situation after the fact. And they have failed at this year after year. Maybe, they should give tenure to long time paying customers and give them dedicated servers when the holidays arrive.

Big corporations with limitless money tend not to spend money until they have made money. Sony and Microsoft could have spent money to prepare for a significantly large increase in users. The money lost, if there predictions of increased users were off, would be devastating. They use this time of year to set up the correct amount of servers without overspending. Same way Activision fluffed Destiny 2 with their Locked Content fiasco in Destiny. Lizard Squad = Scapegoat

Are they a scapegoat if they warned Sony and Microsoft of the attack weeks ago, or could they just possibly be the perpetrators of this problem? If certain markets couldn't connect to Xbox Live or PS Network, I'd say you were probably right, but literally the entire country (USA) went offline today. Save your conspiracy theories and use your brain.

Think about it. Lizard Squad did this 2 weeks ago. Live went down for maybe an hour. Then LS threatened to take Live and PSN for good. Did either corp. beef up the capacity for their servers? They will wait until after they know the amount of capacity they need to add before growing their servers. So ya, consumers have no leg to stand on against these corps. Because they get to use LS as an out. Ask for a pro rate on the day(s) you missed out on, see what they say.
