I'm on a Surface RT right now. So long as you have one of the keyboard accessories, its really perfectly fine for most things. Not having Silverlight can be a bit annoying though. Its battery lasts for ages and charges very quickly. I'm happy with it

I don't think you really need to wait. Unless you're traveling with no access to a charger for days and are using the Surface quite regularly, you're not going to run out of battery. I use it to watch films if I'm traveling and I have noticed that I can watch an entire film and still have ~85% battery life. If you're just using it for Office and web browsing it'll last for days (not literally). I've been on mine all day and it started at about 30% charge and its still got a few hours left. A friend of mine who works for Microsoft says you're better off getting the type keyboard as opposed to the touch one. He gave me my keyboard :)

Oh lucky, congrats on getting that for free, idk, still might wait till it comes out just to compare them and see whoch I want, because personally even if I don't need that much battery life I still like to have it. Better safe than sorry after all.
