Great post. I for one have never understood the level of selfishness exhibited by those who practice abstinence. How can one morally justify not giving life a chance to occur? The rationalizations I've heard are generally callous and self-serving, revolving around some combination of convenience and economics. How shameful.
How can one morally justify not giving life a chance to occur?
The thought that goes through my mind is that if's an ethical crime not giving life a chance to occur, then women are serial killers for allowing eggs to go unfertilized. Men are committing genocide on a massive scale, even if they aren't masturbating. You talk of selfishness, but isn't it selfish to bend a person's will to your own? Isn't it selfish to force a child to be born and raised into world were their own mother does not want them and struggles to provide the basic of necessities for them? Not to mention that such a child has all the makings of becoming a burden on society as an adult. Stuck in increasingly overcrowded prison's because he flaunts the laws and morals of society and steals and kills.
