Bungie is a business beholden to shareholders.
Their objective is to make money from a product they sell. To do that requires a balance of dollar-saving tactics, while appeasing the consumers enough to keep them invested in the product.
They ARE listening, and I refuse to believe what they do stems from incompetence. I think every decision they make, they do so very intentionally.
Whether that has / will be successful is another matter, but I personally feel Bungie has tapped into the addictive mentality of modern media consumers quite artfully.
It doesn’t matter if the users are unhappy, as long as they remain users 🙂
