I think the consensus is these aren't quality of life upgrades. We definitely had a better game before this dropped.

Armor 2.0., actually fighting to kill a universe-ending boss (The Witness) .. it felt like DESTINY just a couple short months ago. Now it feels totally aimless and ... what are we grinding power for?? A new boss to surpass the Witness? Doubt it. Where's the storyline? Where's the urgency to save the world? This doesn't feel like DESTINY anymore.

Some say it was epic, I say it was over the top nonesense which just made no damn sense. Bungie have rhe best feeling game ever made to play, yet they treat it like a child progeny, or worse, locked in a basement with no ideas about real life. It's a genuine tragedy. Bungie should be threatened with legal action by the gaming community for what they've done to us all. They owe us money at this point.
