1. Go into your ghost so that you can focus on two desired, available options, combos for your desired build/s 2. Exotic armor is only up to tier 2. No clue why. BUT, due to the changes, two great spikes are better than a 9 point non spike exotic armor. 3. Legendary Class items now also drop with spikes. This is huge for a build as it adds a 5th set of stat distributions. 4. The benefits of two high stats have great returns vs the old armor. If you are focusing around armor perk bonuses, even more returns are there. You are on the right track… Do not use tier 1 armor at all. I have two tier 2 armor drops I am using due to their large spikes for my build. You also level up the armor. (Meaning a 60 is actually 82 once leveled and has its mod) So Ada-1 is used to get 2 large spike drops more than the “perfect” high stat. Paired with your ghost focus mod AND focusing armor on Kepler or rolling them at a vendor you can get that 200, 120, 90 split on tier 1-2 armor. Once you see the returns, it will start to not only make sense but also tell you why you will be chasing higher tier armor. My Titan went from op to holy crap… and this is only at 200 pl and a mix of old armor and tier 2 armor. The exotic class item is more rewarding for builds because they were all made spikes to stats that work for their rolls. But it is worth it… when done right.

  • Thanks for the breakdown, but could you clarify "spikes" for me haha. Also I'm using the Guardian games class item which has the additional mod socket, is that worth keep investing in or should I swap?

  • Certainly.. So the goal in building is to greatly enhance your target build. Ie melee, grenade, super etc… Hitting the 100 mark of stat points are about the same as you had before with maybe a little longer cool downs… Now, as you pass the 100 stat points, you gain additional benefits. My melee build has a stat of 190(the round up number now Ie 188 goes to 190 benefit wise) So I get faster cool downs from all sources and a 26% damage buff. I have 120 health, of which gives me 70% health from each orb I pick up, 10% flinch resistance, better shields, and faster shield recharge rates. So you want to find a combo of stats that you are focusing on. “Spikes” mean you can max out at 40 points on the armor plus any mod you throw on. With the changes, you can get 2 large spikes in two stat columns. Of which leads me to your second question… You definitely want to focus on a legendary class item. They are stat based just like the rest of the armor. Meaning you gain more just from getting a tier 1 but even more with higher tiers. This is an instant swap.
