Actually gambling is illegal for anyone under 18. The only reason the games companies get away with it is they claim it is not gambling by saying you do not get anything of any monetary value. Which is funny if you ask me as that makes it pretty much robbery, except its gambling robbery so totally family friendly. Please don’t compare RNG elements in games to spending money on gambling mechanics as one is a time sink the other manipulates people into spend millions.

由maegatron編輯: 12/5/2019 5:03:44 PMWait so opening an engram is preying off of individuals addictive habits? While gambling at a casino: if you start to lose they intentionally give you free stuff to make you stay and get more money out of you.

Uh yeah How do you think games like bingo and the lottery work? Its the random reinforcement, and that "I didn't get it this time, but maybe this time I'll get it" mentality that random reinforcement fosters RNG games are digital Pavlov experiments

Yeah because for example Skyrim. You don't need RNG. Know why? It is a single player game with LOTS of variety of quests with specific weapons tied to those quests. Only RNG is chest loot (maybe?) and Meridia's Beacon I wanna say. Mehrune's Razor as well. Destiny isn't like that. It isn't a single player game where they can focus on making millions of interesting quests with specific loot tied to it to limit the rng. It is an online multiplayer open world game. It has to be tied to it.
