I'm struggling to understand the excitement behind today's reveal. This looked more like an expansion than it does a sequel. We're still looking at running strikes and raids. We've got a couple of new PvP modes w/ 3v3 being replaced by 4v4. Altered class abilities for the 3 classes that were in the original game.
I don't see how this can be called a true sequel when everything we've seen so far is just another iteration of what we've been playing.

Agreed. I like the game but eventually everything about this game just burned me out. They claimed it was going to be a completely new and different game. I was really hoping that was true. I'm sick and tired of doing the same shit. Strikes and public events. It got old really fast. This is basically an expansion that morons are going to pay for because they're morons. I played the crap out of the first until it was time to stop. Reality hit me and I realized there's nothing special anymore. This is a reskin of the original. Just wait for the reviews before buying it. The main character still doesn't speak. The guns are recycled from destiny 1 concept art. They give you only 4 planets and 1 raid. You are buying a 1/5 of what the game truly is........again and you're okay with that? Blows my mind that people are okay with this. No dedicated servers and to solve the lad issue they downsized the player count in pvp. They come up with this grand idea of why all our stuff is gone, which I don't give a shit about, and how we're starting from nothing again. Why call it a sequel the. Make a new game with a destiny backbone. I don't like the existing characters because the first game offered no stories to back up these characters. Like who the -blam!- is the traveler and so on. Done.

If they change too much they can't call it destiny. They made great improvements to a great game while having it still look and feel like destiny gameplay. I don't know why people wanted them to get rid of strikes and raids but those are what make destiny destiny. In theory they got rid of the bad stuff like patrols and replaced it with everything that they cooked up for D2. Strikes and raids werent bad or broken so theyre stay and are likely being greatly improved. We still have a lot to see so hopefully there will be more different subclasses and such.

What you just described was and is the base for destiny. They've added to and reworked many things, which is what a sequel does. Otherwise you would have a different game. If that's what you are wanting, then buy a different game. Right? Yes, you are going to do some of the same types of things...every sequel ever does that...that I've ever played at least.

How can you say that? We have reworked missions guns abilities and in game lfg. There was more story and cutscenes in the first mission than in the entirety of d1. Granted we haven't seen the whole game yet but it still seems pretty revamped. Were people expecting it to be a kart racer or something to make it different? It's an fps.

Just the amount of content. DLC is small stuff say like skins, or weapon packs, armor, etc. Expansion is additional content say the size of a quarter or third of the base game to extend the life of it without creating a completely new game. From the reveal you can see most things are changing and in the size of a 50gb + bulk of content, is definitely say that's a sequel.

Fair enough. I can see that. I don't want people here to take my comments the wrong way. I love Destiny as much as the rest of you guys. Started day 1, own all of the DLC/expansions, and have put in well over 1000 hours into it. I just don't want this to be more of the same. And with the exception of Adventures/Lost Sectors, it appears to be a lot of what we've been playing already.

由RainingSlayer編輯: 5/18/2017 8:32:11 PMThat's exactly why I was thinking with the whole reveal. Like Oh wow a new dlc. Yes it's a fresh start but I hope it's not just the continuation off of what destiny did and gave us a little content and then starve us for extended amounts of time. Most of the dlc's were not worth what they charged. I'm waiting for the reviews on this one.
