Because playing against bots was fun (despite the limited game types and maps, which made it repetitive after a while). Playing against players just changes the dynamic entirely, whether it's because they adopt bullshit strategies, cheese it, play too goddamn much, or straight cheat, it makes playing the game so much less fun. And sure, you could continue to play bots... if you want a loot box every 10,000 games. And don't tell me to "get good." After about the 10th time of putting numerous point-blank Reaper shotgun blasts into someone's chest only to get one-shotted in return, you realize "getting good" doesn't really apply when there's no sense to be made of what's happening. Whether that's due to latency or whatever-the-f***, it wasn't a problem I had playing against bots. Idk, maybe I've just grown jaded, but Battlefield is one of the only games I actually enjoy playing against other players -- and even then only for Team Deathmatch/Gun Master. The Crucible can be fun here and there, too, but more often than not it's just a pain in the ass and despite being a typically calm and collected person, I have a short fuse when it comes to games. Always have. :|
