Templars were knights during the Middle Ages, who were given the task of protecting the holy sepulcher (Whatever that is. XD). The Templar in Destiny is the protector of the Vault of Glass.[/spoiler] I don't think that trend is going away. Xylar sounds more like a wizard name to me. I'm sure it was fake, or it would at least be on google images. But whether it was real or not, it should definitely be a future raid boss.
