Unfortunately if it is not on your character and not at the post master, then your weapon is in that place that the Vex keep locked out of time and space. Bungie does not replace lost/glitched/broken-down/missing/eaten-by-space-worms weapons or characters regardless of how it happens. This is why it is always a good idea to have space on your character and not rely on the Post Master for catching your items.
