It's Not That Thorn is OP, It's That There Isn't Any Effective Counter
Think about it. Did you see any complaints about Thorn or The Last Word when Auto Rifles and Fusion Rifles were usable? Suros, with the Health Regen and general all around awesomeness at the time was a PERFECT COUNTER to Thorn. Plan C could also be whipped out as a panic button to escape that 2nd headshot.
Don't nerf Thorn or Hand Cannons as a whole, restore Auto Rifles and Fusions to pre 1.1.1(or just give autos the old damage and crit modifiers). If you guys go by the same logic you used to nerf Auto Rifles(people were using them too much), then it just becomes a domino effect until every weapon type is shite.

1 回覆There is a counter, it's called learn how to move, jump when hit, shoot back with thorn , tlw, red death, or any other weapon for that matter that you can aim and shoot while jumping or sliding

Sounds like a great solution to me. The other option is to nerf the Thorn and then you'll get the same problem all over again next week when scout rifles are the new dominate weapon. The solution isn't a nerf but providing a viable alternative to the rest of the weapons. Nerf's aren't going to generate a balanced gameplay.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Auto riffles, and fusion rifles need to be buffed back to pre 1.1.1. Only then will we see balance in PvP again. Don't nerf a another motherhumping thing! All that nerf talk needs a change in perspective.

3 回覆personally, i find that the word of crota and a couple well placed headshots .. or even the Vex for crying out loud.. make a very viable counter to the thorn.

I agree with you basic point. Thorn isn't OP...its that the range of competitive weapons and DIRECT counters to it have been SEVERELY narrowed. But there still ARE many counters to Thorn users. However, Thorn (and other hand cannons) are simply expanding into the vacuum left by patches 1.1.1 and 1.1.2. Which broke auto-rifles and yanked the teeth from fusion rifles.

When destiny first came out and after a good couple months i played in the crucible and rarely seen thorn being used. Now every Tom Dick and Harry has one. The reason you didnt see thorn that much is because there wasn't much void to use as there is now for the bounty. Besids all that, bungie should of kept all exotics out of crucible and worked from there to make balance in the game. As it is now its stupid to even play any crucible, and to far gone for any balance....

That is very good. Bring back the Auto rifle and fusion rifles. That way you won't have to Nerf thorn or hand cannons. They are my favorite type of weapons. I used to love auto rifles until the Nerf then they were not the same anymore. Look Monti Carlo, SUROS Regime, and Hard Light got hit hard my the Nerf. So bring it back please

1 回覆Trials of Osiris pulse rifle. Just sidestep then burst, most these thorn users spam cos they can't aim. It is a very annoying weapon the thorn but easily out shot with most pulse rifles.....and good aiming

5 回覆I would love it if they made FR's a viable PvP option again - I loved rocking FR's. Learning how to feather the charge, and fire while taking corners was fun as hell. ;-) Alas, this is why the forum nerf bunnies are a problem. They saw the mid-range beastiness of an FR as a problem when they were trying to be cool and slide with their shotties. [i]"It's not fair!"[/i] they would scream. [i]"I was sliding like a boss and he still killed me!"[/i] they cried, with their salty tears steadily streaming down their face. And what did Bungie do? They cut the balls off of nearly every FR in the game, with the Vex being the exception until recently. Now all you have is 99% shotguns running the maps, even on sniping maps like Shores of Time. What really needs to happen is the nerf bunnies need to shut the hell up and learn how to play the game instead of running to mommy Bungie whenever a gun kills them in PvP. Their whining is why the Thorn is the PvP gun of choice, and if that gets nerfed, then it will merely be another gun they go off crying about (my guess is Red Death). These crucibabies will not be happy with PvP, so Bungie should just stop pandering to them.

Theres always gonna be a op weapon at least with thorn it takes some skill. if it didnt take skill you wouldnt hear so much bitching and they would just use thorn. the only weapons that need a buff are ARs for PvP and PvE; and FRs on the PvE side. other than that if you dont chew big red then -blam!- you!!
