Dissecting the Weekly Update 03/17/16: Finally Some New Content

Welcome to the new weekly post on the S-Class Renegades forum, Dissecting the Weekly Update. We actually got something from the update today regarding the new Spring Update, here is all of the solid details and speculative details. Starting off with picture, the guardians look like taken. Most people are saying that this is a brand new shader that will be acquired from the brand new version of Prison of Elders, which is also something you could find in the picture. The armor the guardians are wearing is all Prison of Elders gear and also the background looks like the reef. To top it off, we've heard the word "replayability" used back in House of Wolves when they first released Prison of Elders, so I think it is safe to say that we are getting the Prison of Elders brought up to year 2. If you are skeptical of the picture just not being representative of the update at all. Back when they first released Trials of Osiris, they did the same thing with the picture at the top. Finally from the picture we could possibly be seeing the story line of Mara Sov and Prince Uldren continued. On the audio stream from last week they leaked that Mara Sov could still be alive. This also seems plausible. Now moving on to the text of the weekly we update this is what DeeJ listed was coming. This could mean new missions, it could mean the afore mentioned Prison of Elders. I am guessing that is referring to both, as just adding one new strike wouldn't incorporate much story, but adding in some story missions would be cool. The next thing was New and Updated gear. I'm guessing the new gear is vendor refreshes and those missing exotic armor pieces and the three missing exotic heavy weapons. Now the updated gear could be more year 1 exotics brought up to year 2, year 2 versions of the Prison of Elders gear that we saw in the picture, or it could be updated gear from the raids. My guess is definitely the first two, but I'm not sure about the updated raids. Next is New quest featuring the Blighted Chalice strike. This strike is most likely on the moon in the Hellmouth, because of leaked information on the Destiny reddit page and also that is currently the only place that we currently know that there is a chalice. Increased light level and rewards. This will most likely be higher light level drops from the new updated Prison of Elders. (Finally! I'm sick and tired of Oryx) The last two are Sandbox and crucible updates and (and more...). Those are pretty self explanatory. Hopefully the crucible updates means new playlists. Finally rapping up everything, we are expecting Prison of Elders to return, new gear to come, a Taken shader, and increased light level. Bungie will be releasing new information for the next three weeks every Wednesday.
