At this point, America is hopelessly misinformed about Islam. I took Political Islam in college, and while I was trying to learn the differences and histories of various political organizations within Islam, my classmates were literally trying to understand that "Islam" and "Muslim" weren't two different religions, while others were reeling from the fact that they aren't countries!!
Not making this up, sadly.

Yeah...no. A Muslim is a person who consciously follows Islam. Islam refers to the entirety of the population who follow the teachings of the prophet Muhammed.

Why are you explaining this to me?

Because your post is complete BS lol

I'm not lying. The conversation went as follows: "I feel dumb. I thought Muslim and Islam were two religions." "Don't feel bad. I thought they were two different countries." I've had no reason to lie on the forums the past 10 years, I'm not starting now. Even if you thought I was lying, that doesn't explain why you tried to explain things to me.
