I've been noticing while playing that if I reload then switch weapons without firing and then switch back, frequently ammo I just put in the first weapon is now gone. For example, heavy machine gun, then switch to rocket. If I switch back, heavy machine gun is empty. This is a problem in the game, where they are not keeping track of ammo for the state of weapon you have.

You must be new. Let me be the first to welcome you to the way Destiny works. Your welcome.

Yeah, Bungie knows it's a glitch, confirmed by DeeJ, but they have no idea when they will get around to fixing it. That was stated by DeeJ two months ago!! So frustrating. Welcome to Destiny Guardian!

Yeah, that's the "ammo tax." I would imagine Bungie sees it as the counterbalance to being able to carry up to thirty weapons at once. :) Personally, since the ammo is represented as glowing boxes of what I presume to be a programmable matter, like Glimmer, I think an ammo tax only make sense if you switch from one type of weapon to another type. Losing when switching from a fusion rifle to a sniper rifle makes sense, losing it switching from one fusion rifle to another makes less sense. In my opinion, anyway.
