EARNED? ARE YOU DUMB?
This is the best, Im laughing so much to people that say they "EARNED" the gjallarhorn. First of all the only way you can earn a weapon is if you do your weeklys and get the strange coins. Since you EARNED the strange coins to obtain/buy the weapon from Xur.
("Yes I know you can get exotic bounties too")
Only real way you EARN a gjallarhorn is by buying it from Xur, you didn't really EARN a gjallarhorn by a nightfall or PvP or a raid. "It just your luck is better then others"

Weekly ~ got coins- Buy from Xur = earned Roc ~ got roll-hit jackpot = earned Similarity- killed sh*t/spent your time applying yourself to trying to win = Earning what you are after. Paycheck ~ worked for money = earned Difference- had to drive to the store/order/download after paying for the game. Result- coins/rolled = earned. Period. You buy the game , it doesn't matter how the fu€k you got it. Who gives a sh*t. You payed for the game so you fu€king earned it regardless. These are the dumbest debates . Debates ~ Dumb = earned the title

1 ответI would agree with you, if the gjallarhorn price (or any Xur weapons, were defined by a supply and demand, rather then be set at a super undervalued price. This would be suggesting that a person on paritally subsidized food stamps (they pay a small portion of what they purchase), has "earned" all of what they buy. (nothing against food stamps, it is a great program for those in need, its just an analogy for clarity). I have no problem with the concept of Xur, however, I feel like he offers products at far too low of a price. The run on Icebreakers is proof of this. I personally belive that his price should be double or triple (I doubt the market would even be that forgiving, But i am trying to be reasonable). but my argument now, based on mathmatics, is that the "majority" of Gjallarhorn owners have "earned" it more then if xur were to sell it at his current price levels. It is true that many people get lucky in the RNG system, and roll a Gjallarhorn early in their play experience. But as probability would mathmatically dictate, the gjallarhorn owning percentage will increase at a direct proportion to gameplay, as the players who play more, and have more chances of recieving gjallarhorn are more likely to have it. I would argue that this supports current play owners to use the "earn" word, over those who could complete 2 weekly strike, and accumulate the 17 coind that would be needed to buy it. This entire argument is one of semantics, but my logic is growded in the mathamtical observation that those players that play more, will have a higher aquisition rate of the gun.

These kinds of posts really annoy me. Look, I agree that you earn weapons when you buy them from Xur. You have completed the weeklies and done enough to earn the strange coins. But don't tell other people they didn't earn it if they didn't buy it from Xur. If you complete the raid and get a gjallarhorn you EARNED it. The raid is the hardest thing to complete in the game (definitely harder than weekly heroics). If you complete the nightfall (also more difficult than weekly heroics) you EARNED it. I received my gjallarhorn for two-manning the Rockets Mcdickface no burn nightfall. Are you telling me I didn't earn it? If you have been playing this game since launch or you are a dedicated player you have done more than enough to earn it. Seriously stop with these posts

most of the people that throw out the term "earned" actually are referring to "grinded for". I know it's rng and nothing is really earned but I feel as if I've grinded for/earned my exotic collection. and with the amount of time I sunk in i'll also feel like I've earned the last 2 pieces of the exotic pool.

In real life, there are two ways we get things: dumb luck or earn enough money and buy it. In this game it's pretty similar. You either earn the currency to buy it (even with its limited, 48 hour availability), or you have dumb luck and win it in a lottery or contest. I hate the division of people over simple things. What I hate more is the elitist attitude of those who were lucky enough to get it from a lottery (Nightfall, ROC, or random engram). It sucks the exact same thing happens in real life when people acted like privileged little shits when they're lucky enough to get shit (be it money or things) when they are simply lucky enough to buy a lottery ticket at the right time or be in the right place or right time to get a certain thing. In full disclosure I don't have one yet but I do have quite a bit of time in this game. Definitely not as much as some, but more than quite a lot who have it. Edit: I have 508 hours at the time of this post. Definitely not the most, but not exactly chump change.

The Exotics are outstanding pieces of rarity so when You see a guy wielding that badass strange outworld Piece of a deathbringer You can tell how badass and deadly he is. Since it takes forever for me to finsih the 3 only exotic bounties for invective juju and thorn (had good advice quest 2x) i ever get "earning" thruth like "real FUGAR found Truth" for being last in the cucible really eased my pain for not doing all quests and stuff on triple chars daily.
