Everyone, stop blowing past sections of strikes that aren't strictly required to progress. You are statistically missing engrams, and if you are trying to save time, every single skip-able section will save you maybe 20 seconds tops. You would have to play like 30 strikes in-a-row before that became significant. The same goes for running ahead when a teammate is grabbing ammo or whatever. If you wanna run like ten feet ahead to get the jump on enemies go ahead, but good lord people will gladly go a fifth of the level ahead of their teammates.
It's about having fun, stop stupidly trying to "maximize" your drops or whatever. As stated above, you are actually acting counter-intuitively to your goal.
For the hell of it lets see who agrees.
Edit* The consensus seems to be "Screw the other players." Sort of disappointing but there you have it, my question is answered. I'll continue to treat the anons like real people, myself.
Edit* If you are after marks(apparently not marks) and rep do patrol, I've checked and it's faster. If memory serves 25 rep from vanguard and 10-25 from patrols. You can knock out a patrol in like 3 minutes on the high end. More like one for many.
Edit* Dear god I am not talking about the patrol sections people.

Meh if I run past and you kill them I'll still get Ma rewardz from post, normally do strikes just for bounties anyway like seriously who goes for random drops anyway
-
No, i'm statistically missing the "chances" at all that glorious green with a hint of blue loot. Where as the boss fight completion my blue with a possible hint of pur-.......who am I kidding, PURE BLUE LOOT is guaranteed. That being said I don't skip any fights within a darkness zone. I'll kill any and everything than the level of strike nothing less. But I don't disagree with people doing that.
-
If I'm in a darkness zone I will kill everything in that area. Unless I'm knocking out random ones for my 25 strikes for the exotic bounty. Then I'll run through everything. If I'm not I'm running past. Gotta realize that some of them strike I've done 30+ times, I don't want to walk through it when I can sprint and just get it over with. I enjoy the raids, Nightfalls/weekly, and crucible. Everything else is part of the grind. The grind is boring so I will go as fast as I can
-
Im tryin to get my 100 marks for the week on all 3 characters, I'm not tryin to kill everything in the strike for the 100th time. If u want real rewards do the nightfall, heroic or raid.
-
I do both. Sometimes I run through as fast as I can for marks or complete certain bounties. Other times, I'm just there to have fun and kill everything for engrams, Cryptarch rank and other bounties. If you want people to play how you like, then add people you're match made with that play like you and build a fireteam that suits your needs. Even if it's temporary or you add them as friends for later runs, you'll be setting yourself up for a better time.
-
If I'm with friends in a fireteam I'll kill the lot, if I'm with some stand around non orb producing plebs I'll skip as much content I can. If the new strike comes up I leave straight away.
-
Don't tell me how to live my life.
-
Just do it how you like if you want to race through it that's fine, more crap for me to kill and means the boss fight is almost done by the time I get there :) sometimes I do like a race through also depends on my mood and why I am doing the strikes
-
5 отв.I've never met someone who stays behind and fights. Because that's pointless. We want to do the strike. And fight the difficult enemies. Not twiddle our dick with level 12s
-
24 отв.Why would I want to waste time at a "chance" to get engram's when I can just speed to the end where I will actually get engram's
-
2 отв.Maximize your drops for what? It's super rare seeing purple engrams from a drop and your most likely get them from completion reward. Rumor is that the faster you complete a strike the better your rewards. Which would make sense because I know of two occasions where someone joined in right at killing the boss and got a exotic.
-
Scrub killing everything lol.
-
4 отв.I disagree. The only reason is that most likely, people DO know they're missing out on those possible extra engrams, but it's all be greens and blues. What the players want is to breeze through and get the stuff at the end, which is almost always more rewarding than those few extra greens and blues. You have to remember, by the time someone becomes a 'runner' in Strikes, they probably have legendaries and exotics, and therefore have no use for anything below, seeing as how they probably have hundreds of Hadronic Essence/Sapphire Wire/whatever else they need. I know I do.
-
New undying mind strike is the first and only place I had two purple holy engrams drop on the floor I immediately screenshoted this gift from the traveler
-
I'm in that 1% of people that grind strikes, so I'm sorry that I have offended you, but I sometimes spend like 5-6 hours grinding strikes for marks and rep... But other times, I actually do the whole thing
-
I generally agree that it's annoying if a fire team doesn't stay somewhat close to each other, especially if one guy could use the extra kills/chance for loot/glimmer with consumable active. Sometimes you just need to get the muthaf'er done, in which case I try to get everyone to go Leroy Jenkins.
-
4 отв.I don't mind missing a few engram's and weapon experience to get it out if the way. Even if we only save 5 minutes, that's another half strike we could have done.
-
4 отв.I play the highest level strike Playlist available for a reason. I'm there to play that strike and kill those enemies, not drag ass around non strike related mobs. I'm getting engram drops just fine doing that. And I'm guaranteed at least 2 at the end also.
-
3 отв.Изменено (weily): 12/13/2014 3:38:49 PMYou mean counter-productive not counter-intuitive. But that's not the point. Reward drops are greater at the end. There is nothing compelling about shooting through droves of enemies for a statistically likely blue engram, or worse. Also, having played the same strike over and over again a person who values their time is going to prefer this strategy.
-
I always run past unnecessary parts and I almost always have more kills because of it...so I don't think I agree with your premise that I'm missing drops. Plus, I get through strikes quicker which levels my vanguard quicker which gets me more opportunities at legendary engrams. So, I understand your concern but I'll keep doing it my way because I believe it is better.
-
Yeah, espcially now that I neeed glimmer since most of its gone to resets and upgrading armor to get to level 31 I need to kill most enemies. Don't just run passed them. I'm sure I'm not the only one who needs glimmer right now.
-
I speed run strikes, but not the first couple times I do them. The new strikes? I played them very slow and looked around and learned the story behind them. Now strikes like The Nexus is a different story. While I was doing the Bad Juju bounty, me and my friend where able to finish the nexus in as little as 5 minutes and at most 10 minutes. It was great.
-
Those mobs are useless...unless for ammo...the idea is to get to the bullet sponge quicker so you can move on to the next strike, not take 30-45mins on one strike for what, a few engrams...run patrols if you need engrams
-
The game is a grind, if a grind can be shortened, by all means. I'm sorry *pats shoulder*
-
You actually save a lot of time by skipping stuff..... Your stupid
-
1 ответIf you finish a strike within 15 minutes you get bonus engrams. Who doesn't know this???
