Really don't think it's a big deal. No one is being forced to do these upgrades and if you want to stand out and be more powerful as a guardian you have to work harder for it. Everyone always complains that everyone is the same and I feel like this edition to the game would make the hardcore stand apart from the casuals.. Just my opinion what is everyone's thoughts?

Honestly it's not a big deal. My favorite exotic is icebreaker and the upgrades don't do much with that lol

1 ответI agree the reset is no issue.
-
I don't mind it at all. Is it more work? Of course it is. But guess what? They could have easily made all those beloved exotics obsolete in favor of the new ones. At least they gave us a way to keep our treasures. Maybe it's not the perfect solution but they gave us something. If they just let everyone upgrade freely, then there wouldn't be much of a grind to get to the new level cap and everyone would then complain about nothing to do. It also puts more of a difference between the newer players and the day one guys. Bungie isn't perfect, but neither is this community nitpicking everything they attempt. Of course these are all just my opinion and mean about as much as a hill of beans. I just hope everyone can get back to playing a game for.....fun? Have a great day everyone

I like it
-
You don't mind that's fine, some people like myself see no point in making you do something you already did once before. With the lack of content you would think they would come up with something new and exciting.... Nope they reset your work so you can do it all over again. How nice of them

1 ответI don't mind after reading this
Because you get to keep your favorite exotic gear for the foreseeable future! No other MMO or franchise I know lets you carry over your stuff from expansion to expansion. Take WoW, for example: In WoW, you spend weeks, possibly months, grinding dungeons and raids to get top tier gear. Not only that, you could slap expensive little upgrades onto this gear to customize it a bit. You also had professions, such as blacksmith and scribe, that required materials to craft with. Hours upon hours upon hours, day after day mining ore nodes, harvesting plants...I don't want to think about how much time I spent Khorium hunting in Nagrand to make my epic Gnomish Flying Machine. Take those stacks of mats and make armor, upgrades, buffs, gadgets and gizmos to enhance your play, or sell or trade to others. We're talking major time, here. Then, the next expansion hits (I quit after Wrath) and every single thing I just mentioned above is WIPED. The new expansion brings new gear, new materials, new crafting recipes and nothing carried over. Zero. All your gear and supplies, along with aaaall the time you sunk into it is rendered moot. So, you played the new dungeons and raids, you mined the new nodes, and you went on. I think the Exotic reset works like this: We currently have the "Destiny" version of Invective. It was coded for this game. When Dark Below hits, there will be a "Dark Below" Invective, code-wise. Resetting my "Destiny" Invective essentially deletes that version and replaces it on my account with the "Dark Below" version with upgraded damage, and I guess perks. It's a pain, yes, but imagine that pretty Invective becoming completely useless in newer content because its damage just can't keep up. You lost not only the time it took to upgrade, but the time it took to earn that sexy beast, so now you have no choice but to let it rot, or dismantle it. The reset may look ghastly at first glance, but weighed against the alternative, it's pretty damn sweet. *raises Shield of Shitstorm Protection +3
1 ответИзменено (cusman): 12/4/2014 5:57:38 PMI would rather spend my time leveling up a new Exotic, than waste time re-upgrading an old favorite. I will use my choice to not bother reseting or re-upgrading until Bungie removes that abhorrent XP reset on the upgrade path. I consider the XP reset on upgrade path highly disrespectful of the players time, and an admission by Bungie that they don't have enough "content" to keep players having meaningful self-applied goals between expansions.

-
Only thing I mind is that we have to wait for Xur to allow us to upgrade specific weapons/armor every week. I have 160+ coins but that means nothing if my weapons of choice aren't up for upgrade.
-
Really have no problem with the Reset. I mean we can keep our lovely LastWords and Ghorns to bring them to the next level. Just angry about the Late Information! I already spend 6 Exotic Shards -_- this are 3 Exotics reseted and upgraded! That is my only problem. A bit Salty

I agree. People prestige COD 10 times. But are crying about some guns...smh
-
You should be, but no, aren't.
-
2 отв.I really don't care. It's just part of the game. I mean how many people have prestiged in a COD game?
-
4 отв.Изменено (Elazul): 12/4/2014 5:38:04 PMAccording to my poll there are 800~ people who agree with you currently. However, there are over 3000+ that disagree. So you guys are in the very vocal minority. Most everyone else can agree this is some bullshit.
-
I look at it as a gift bungie gives US a choice do you want to keep using them? Here is one with a better stat roll. I really see it as just finding the gun or armor with beter stat rolls. I don't even want to see what the people on this forum would do if the old ones became useless. Imo you can't just say sure here's some more upgrades to your gear. People would be bored so quickly.
-
I only gave 4 fully upgraded out of about 10 my suros is crap since the update and is probably getting dismantled I only use the truth for VOG and my icebreaker and plan c are duplicates. So I'll keep those and reset the other 2 so I'm not too bothered it's just the RPG element of the fame coming into play.
-
It depends. I've heard the base value of reset weapons will be 302, so it won't go down it'll go up. They just want people to have to work harder than just adding a node or 2. I think it makes sense, although I wish we could keep the progressions we've made on them up to each one's unique perk.
-
Don't bother me any lol
-
Don't mind it at all.. Gives you the possibility to use old exotics aswell as the new ones.. And I get to swim in the sea of tears over flooding this forum right now wich is sort of hilarious..
-
No. Your not. Its the usual knee jerk reaction that happens on this forum all the time. They don't read the information presented. The TLDR crowd. Get wound up by rumour and conjecture and post the usual WTF, FU, BS bungie posts. At least they give me some light entertainment when im reading these forums.
-
Doesn't bother me
-
1 ответDoesn't bother me either. Only use maybe 3 exotics. I like this change and look forward to upgrading them again. Getting kind of boring using maxed exotics on enemies below lvl 26.
-
3 отв.I don't mind the exotic resets, I'm just bummed about all my legendaries that I ground out that are going to be underpowered now. Just recently acquired and maxed Fatebringer, only to find out that it will soon be outclassed by all of the new legendaries. :(
-
Just give us something when we upgrade if our current is maxed. Give me a telemetry for that type of weapon. Doesn't have to be something special or massive, just an acknowledgement.
-
I'm trying to withhold judgement until next week. On the surface, it feels like nonsense to me. Leveling exotics is already exhausting and to be forced to do it twice in order to have raid worthy weapons feels ... well, doubly exhausting. TBH it feels like Bungie just trying to slow players down in the lead up to the Crota Raid so that they have fewer people completing it over a longer period of time and giving the DLC an artificial sense of being deeper content than it actually will end up being.
-
Yep in am cool with it. Rather that then then coming out with a whole new set of exotics that we would have to get. Not to mention how many exotics do you really need maxed up to 323. Pick 3 or four that are relevant to the new raid and leave the rest at 300.
