Really don't think it's a big deal. No one is being forced to do these upgrades and if you want to stand out and be more powerful as a guardian you have to work harder for it. Everyone always complains that everyone is the same and I feel like this edition to the game would make the hardcore stand apart from the casuals.. Just my opinion what is everyone's thoughts?

No, you arent the only one.
-
I don't really care. Gives me something else to do besides raid.
-
Yes you are the only one who doesnt mind.
-
Nope, you aren't. The only people who mind are those who are too entitled and lazy to understand that if they want an upgrade they have to pay for it. Whether that be through experience or a set currency.
-
No you aren't. It's not that hard upgrading weapons, even days we if you have 2 20+ characters.
-
Actually love the idea as it will now give me a reason to play for more then a hour or so it takes to do the daily story mission and all 6 vanguard bounties.Farming for materials to trade in for crucible marks kept me playing.I had to start another character to just have something to do.

2 отв.It's only an issue for me if I've spent time upgrading my exotics to max, which only a few I've done. It seems a bit sucky to lose all the gear abilities because of it rather than just adding a new skill tree to carry on progression. Otherwise it's cool. 7 coins for a new and improved version that starts basically at the point I worked so hard to get to. It balances itself out kind of! Plus, there's the normal bounties, and Eris bounties now the will help to boost the levelling of all gear. And Iron Banner or other events in the future.
-
I have no issues with the exotic reset I am glad they are keeping older weapons viable so they just don't collect dust in the vault like most games of this type.
-
I agree. I don't really see the big deal here. I'd rather my current exotics not become obsolete and spend the time/resources upgrading them to the new damage cap. People want everything handed to them and don't realize how easily we could be facing having to start from scratch again.
-
I agrizzle.
-
How many exotics do you have? How many have 300 dmg?
-
1 ответWhile its annoying, its better than letting exotics falling to the side.
-
People don't have to upgrade, just keep the gun as is. Problem solved
-
It's not a problem to me.
-
I don't mind the exotic refresh, it makes sense in a way ( you're not upgrading your exotic, your trading it in for a new and improved one that hasn't been levelled up yet ). I do mind the cost ( strange coins are very hard for me to come by, I can't afford that shit. Then there's the glimmer cost which is high ). I am still angry that Bungie got rid of the materials for marks exchange program. I'm also worried about the 'new' Vanguard and Crucible recommendations, Destiny's in game economy is complicated enough and this isn't helping.
-
It sucks, but I'm not exactly jumping off the Destiny bridge either over it. But I'm still not happy about it. Especially with a gun like Bad Juju
-
I'm for it

Изменено (Malovi): 12/4/2014 6:33:40 PMGiven the alternative options my opinion is that while re-leveling gear you already did once will seem tedious, at the end of the day it is likely the most beneficial system both for the users and for Bungie. Before the fanboy cries go out lets explore the other options: 1) All vanilla gear becomes obsolete with the DLC (most mmo/loot based games do this) - is that a better option? 2) The upgrades bring your gear to current DLC cap - you destroy the Raid and bank all the new exotics that will take time/effort to level up and are quickly bored with the new content. - is that a better option? 3) The upgrades do not require you to level up your gear however it is at a lower maximum level of damage/armor than the new DLC gear. You eventually break down all of your old favorite gear for the new. - is that a better option? (variation on option 1 really) 4) The upgrade system Bungie decided to go with. You get to bring your favorite gear with you and it 'upgrades' to be basically a DLC level piece without having to hope for a lucky drop from the nightfall or crucible. You can choose not to level it up but if it is the gun or armor you use regularly you're definitely going to but now if you get a DLC exotic you're also willing to try that out too as you might find you like it as much or more. I'm sure there are other nuanced versions people can think up but another thing to consider is the potential technical limitation with regards to tracking the status/progression of a vanilla exotic and matching it to an upgraded version - sure maxed out items are easy but items that are somewhere between just dropped and maxed out? What do they do then? Give everyone the maxed out version? Yeah, that would go over well... "HEY! I SPENT TIME LEVELING MINE - THIS SCRUB JUST FARMED IT!" So like I said, the re-leveling will be annoying but it likely is the best option available.
-
I'm with you. The way I see it, they could leave them obsolete and forced you to collect NEW exotics, which you'd have to level up ANYWAY. The idea is that you should have to level up expac-worthy gear. Not have it thrusted on you fully maxed out so that the new content is that much easier. I say good call. It makes sense. People who are complaining about it just want handouts.
-
If there was some cool new way to level them I would mind less. Grinding the same crap I've done 100's of times to get the same item that needs some more damage to stay relevant is just adding a repetitive factor to an already very repetitive game. In fact, it's kind of a slap in the face in that context.
-
I don't mind, people are freaking out over having to and I'm not sure why. With bounties and nightfall bonus won't take long and if you have more than one character it will cap even faster. The argument on mats spent is not valid when you can spend vanguard marks to buty mats now; now imagine if you had to farm all those mats again the hard way. I am more concerned with he glimmer cap being 25k they seriously need to raise the cap on glimmer or remove the cap all together.

Изменено (der_fury_000): 12/4/2014 7:05:48 PMDont bother me either have 3 ghorns one maxed keeping it maxed until I max out another same with the ice breaker. Gonna do my exotic armor same way since I have full set of raid gear for all three characters
-
It doesn't bother me. I look at it as a new gun any way. They also arn't making you reset it. Plus you will get better exotics in the dlc that are already at the higher level. I am upset they arn't giving a way to upgrade legendary guns. I love my voc and I want the fatebringer. Both really good guns. Also tdyk and many other guns I depend on. I know I will get better stuff but it took me a while to get these. I'm not going to worry over it though drops could be more often who knows
-
I'd agree that it really isn't a big deal. I don't mind putting in the time to get something better. However I greatly dislike that Xur is going to be the controlling factor on when and IF I get to even work towards that goal (referring to the random upgrade options each week).
-
I don't care more game time for me:)
-
Honestly it's not a big deal. My favorite exotic is icebreaker and the upgrades don't do much with that lol
