The secret to the Vault of Glass, right under our nose?
EDIT: Moving the bottom edit to the top because apparently people aren't reading the whole post before replying.
EDIT: This is an old topic that got bumped for some reason. This was originally posted back in November and a lot has been revealed since then that I no longer think this theory has any weight whatsoever.
I have read pretty much all of the major threads and theories. I will say that I do believe there is something that we have yet to find inside the Vault of Glass. It may be that it hasn't even been patched in yet, or just that it is so cleverly hidden like a certain skull from the past.
So one avenue is the Grimoire cards. At worst, we have some pretty cool lore surrounding the Vault of Glass that may or may not have a hidden message. If it does, I think this one is continually misunderstood:
"No one can open the Vault alone. I opened the Vault. There was no one with me but I was not alone."
A lot of people interpret this to mean the beginning phase where you have to defend three sync plates. I have heard a lot of interesting theories about how to do this part alone. But this part, you are not opening the Vault of Glass, just the way to it.
The Vault of Glass is the final room of the raid. Atheon's room. The raid might be called that, but when Kabr is mentioning opening the Vault, this has to be what he means. Further, you definitely cannot open this alone. You have to wait until your entire raid is in front of the door to open it.
So, with that said, what if there was a way to open this alone while your raid was somewhere else? What if the other 5 people go the alternate route to the inactive portal and wait there while one person goes and stands in front of the door? What if there are other things for the other members to be doing before someone attempts to open the door alone?
The Vault of Glass is sealed until you open it. So perhaps, if you were to do something to trigger some other special events, when it opens, it would be a different time period and you would enter into the past and be able to save Kabr?
Curious what you all think?

During "Times Vengeance" is should refill almost instantly, and it seems that this would be the only way to truly defeat Atheon by removing him from time... Don't know if it would work or not, but the fact that it is teleported away from you after he dies must mean that he's not actually dead... The fact that Times Vengeance comes back again about a minute after he is dead has to mean something, and the only other time that it comes up in the raid is when he's the one doing it... Edit: Also, has anyone made sure that both gates stayed open when Atheon was killed? I noticed last night that the one that we had just come out of remained open after he was dead. If the relic is teleported away from you, then it must be back inside one of the portals. Maybe if you bring it back out again something else happens?

2 отв.I was reading about the "maps" someone got one of the lights to turn green by going to section 9, I think it is called, and screwing with the gate lord. What if the last room truly is not the vault? If the guardian who made the shield had companions, which she did, then why did she say that she was alone in the first place? Maybe turning all the lights green has something to do with altering the state of the last door to the vault. Instead changing the time or opening a gate to the real vault.

9 отв.I went to Campus 9, and found a strange wall. It has a repulsion field that bounces away wall grenades, throwing knives, or me, if I run at it. Unlike anything else I've seen in the game.

15 отв.Ever see the red colored computer monitor like thing on the outside of the vault of glass??? I ask this all the time and no one replies. Don't believe me? Go to the plate that's high on the right in the beginning. On the ledge facing the other area it's just sitting nestled away. Weird enough, I found one on the way into the archives on Venus. Could be a secret, could be a remnant from the game destiny used to be.

3 отв.Wear the raid gear, with raid weapons, and crit vex inside the area of effect of the confluxes in the templar room. You'll hear a sound every time you crit one, I havnt gotten a team to explore this but I have asked a few people if they get the same results, some do some don't so I think it has to do with what you or your team has equipped. The sound is like notes from the conflux, different weapons make different notes. My running theory is that you have different weapons play the "song" in correct order and something happens, maybe a chest. Since materials are pretty worthless now though I'm sure no one really cares anymore.

4 отв.Atheon is located in the Glass Throne which is inside the Vault of Glass. There is a popular theory for that quote from Kabr the legionless. He's described as being cold and unfriendly. So it seems likely that anyone he traveled with had poor rapport with the man. They were likely fighting together but only for need of a common enemy. Not for any sort of camaraderie. There is a lore I believe that goes into the death of those who raided with him and into the death of Kabr himself. The answer is no though. Deej said the other day that there is a loot chest that hasn't yet been found on Mars. Considering the Vex network it's entirely possible that there's another entrance to the Vault from Mars.

Because of Crota's End is such a letdown in possible secrets I lost my interest in discovering more in the vault completely. If someone finds anything, that's cool. But I'm not searching by myself anymore. There definitely are more chests...but whats the point of finding more ascendant mats or 300 exotics...I don't give a -blam!-.

Or maybe, the grimoire “story" is just a hackneyed attempt to replace the original storyline with something as wordy and vapid as a high school paper written the night before. Of course, I may be wrong, but given the track record of Destiny thus far, I think you're giving Bungie too much credit. Frankly, I'm guessing the time you've spent trying to figure out the “lore" is far more than they put into writing it.

I reckon campus 9 has something do with it, cause the vex are lvl 30 when you start vog, so maybe you have to do something in that section before you actually go and take the vex plates, but in saying that be carefull not the glitch the spire.

I honestly think that if there was ever going to be a spot we haven't searched it would be that portal on the island. We just need to figure out what to do with it.

22 отв.Has anybody else found this room in Venus? Found it a while back, over the bridge being guarded by 2 yellow minotaur, enter a cave, follow it for few minutes, yellow vex around every turn, and just come to this place, it has no purpose. There is activation plates dotted around but they do nothing.

After playing through the new raid and seeing how slimline it was in comparison - I'm convinced there is nothing left of note to find in the VoG.

1 ответJust to clarify the end section is the THRONE of glass. I feel the alone grimoire comment refers to kabar's fireteam who was with him to open the vault but was later erased from the timeline.

I use to think about the possibilities of endless secrets inside the Vault of Glass. I use to read the Grimoire cards and try to solve the riddles... And then I played Crotas End and realized it's a waste of time. Maybe 2 different teams designed each encounter because Crotas End lacks in every possible category... Will of Crota is on the same level as this garbage.

6 отв.I opened the final room by myself...mind you I was the only one in my fireteam... Seriously, I was with a group, we beat the Templar and then I went to sleep. Got up the next day, loaded up the gorgon maze cp and made it to the Vault with the gatekeeper.

The only reason I humor these posts is bungie doesn't deny we found everything. It's like they watch with morbid curiosity waiting to see if we will continue on.
