Let's start by getting a few things out of the way.
1. I understand ALL supers are OP
2. This is not a rant or hate on the game
3. Refer to 1 and 2 before you hit post.
I am a Hunter. Have been since day one. Will be in 10 years. I am calling on my fellow Hunters to unite in the matter I am about to speak of. I need you to have my back against the uproar these statements may bring.
From purely a crucible standpoint, us hunters that thrive at the top of the leaderboards are truly the most skilled the game has to offer. Let me make my case. Now, there are 2 types of Hunters in this world. You've got your Gunslinger, then you have your Bladedancer. We don't like nor respect the Bladedancer for they are a plague and ruin our reputation. How can you respect a guy thats super is comprised of mindlessly hitting melee 40 times? No aim, just hit melee. We, Gunslingers can't respect that. So exclude yourself young Bladedancer, you're dismissed.
I realize there is much backlash about these statement made on Bladedancers. So for you guys I have quoted a fellow Hunter who explained it best
SisterSafetyPin:
Think of it like siblings that dislike the other until an outsider steps in
So, why are we the most skilled you ask?
A Gunslinger is born with a gun. This gun has 3 nuclear warheads on standby for any sorry SOB in our way. The only thing is, we actually have to aim and hit our targets.
We can't just hit Super, go invincible for a second and then punch the ground killing anything in sight. We can't just hit super, throw a barrage of missile like grenades that kill anything in its way. Nope, we aim, we shoot.
Us Gunslingers don't have a one hit melee that kills. Boy we don't even have a throwing knife that one shot kills to the head! Yes, a knife, we throw, precisely to the head will not kill. We aren't given a grenade that one hit kills. Scratch that, we have a trip mine, even that has to be directly under someone to kill. Unless we weaken our enemies first, these won't one shot.
Gunslingers don't turn invisible, we don't teleport, we don't blow bubbles so our friends may stand inside it to feel safe. We don't hover in the air, we won't resurrect, we don't have pockets full of grenades.
What we will do is stand our ground, headstrong behind our sights with fingers on the trigger. We represent the Golden Age where the only two things Holy are strength and a good aim. If you dare to step in the arena with us, you better bring your entire bag of magic, and even then you aren't guaranteed to stand a chance.
So go ahead, claim we lack in skill because our Golden Gun one shot you across the galaxy. Just don't discredit the fact that we one shot you across the galaxy. Oh, and don't forget to tell the remaining members of your fireteam we have 2 shots left.
Be proud Gunslingers. Not of who you are, but what it is you represent. You're one of a kind. The only aid you need are your whits and your firearm, anything else is just a luxury.
Stand Tall

Thank you Gunslingers for showing your support. Let us also thank you inferiors for tuning in as well (lol all jokes)! This has turned into something special!
Edit 2:
I honestly didn't believe this topic would gain as much attention as it did, it was just more a way to band together my fellow gunslingers. I guess there may have been prejudice in my post, however my opinion was based of pure observation and critical thinking. I don't mean for it to come off as ignorance, just to point out blatant lack of innate power of my Gunslingers, and that success without that power could be translated into true talent.
My apologies Guardians
Thanks for the support Hunters
Also, all you titans out there, there is a thread up for you!

hunters for life

"We don't blow bubbles" Hahaha that made my day. I'm a gunslinger, through and through. And the Last Word has only reinforced this. Most bad ass weapon in the game!
-
I killed 4 guardians with a PERFECTLY placed trip-mine so I wouldnt say that it isn't as weak as you make out as. It just happens that it has a concentrated speared blast radius rather than a spheric one like most grenades. My favorite trip-mine kill was when I knew I was dead after charging Zone A solo and found 3 dudes/dudettes defending it with fusions already aimed at me so i threw my grenade stickied the guy in the back, was vaporized, and through my lingering ghost saw a fourth guy jump in to the zone getting speared by my tripmine along with 2 of his teamates i was disappointed i didnt get all 4 of them but 3 is still pretty fantastic!! Moral of the story I love being a GunSlinger
-
Love it! I've been trying to explain the same thing to others I play with and they don't ever want to listen! I'm glad im not the only one who thinks the same. Hunter since day 1!
-
Gunslinger is the subclass that I'm about to start developing any day now, as I finished my Bladedancer class just yesterday & I finished both my Voidwalker & Sunsinger subclasses some time ago.
-
Kick-ass Sea Bass! Great read! Been playing Gunsinger since day one!

Meh, you make it sound like all the other supers are a cakewalk and pointing a gun is super hard. I've missed plenty of times with titan smash and warlock missile. If you think it doesn't take strategy and skill to get close enough to use the titan smash (when not using it as a panic button) on a control point then you don't get it. I don't know how many times I have been killed trying to get close range to use the titan smash, or how many times I've been killed before I could fire off the magic missile (or it has hit a wall or something that was in the way). Simply aiming and pulling a trigger isn't nearly as difficult/talented as you make it sound.

Here Here brother. Fellow Hunter gunslinger checking in. We, as hunters, are discriminated against.
-
Amen brother. A fellow Gunslinger.
-
Hey now it takes some skill to be good at using Razors edge. It's more fun than just hitting melee all day.
-
To me there is nothing more satisfying than running up behind a Gunslinger and the rest of his team while I am invisible and have arc blade active. Several well placed and directed swings of my blade and my team has just gained ground on a new capture point. I also thoroughly enjoy watching a Gunslinger miss his mark as I blink towards him and send him into a flickering and crackling form of blue Light. I enjoy both subclasses for different reasons and they both have their place. They are both extremely potent if used correctly. I don't believe one is better than the other because I have had many stalemates with plenty Gunslingers.
-
1 ответLvl 30 hunter here. I prefer bladedancer in crucible while using gunslinger in pve. I disagree with you saying bladedancing is just a bunch of mashing melle. Blink teleport in unicen with strategically timed swings isn't just button mashing. Takes timing, precision, and balls. Not to mention you have to be close and in someones face. I dare say gunslingers are pussys and can't fight face to face :).

Изменено (K_hameleon_Z3): 11/17/2014 4:26:57 PMAin't dat da truth! Lol last night in crucible a titan ground smashed and I was literally on the floor ABOVE him and died!!!! Wow...talk about no skill involved and OP! I use warlock as my secondary and voidwalker I must admit is almost the same as far as being about to just smash anyone with the super very easily...gunslinger is by far the toughest

11 отв.I have to disagree with you, my fellow hunters. Yes I do enjoy using the golden gun and my symbiote aclophage helm, but that's only half the fun. If you are good at what you do as a gunslinger, and by that I mean rarely miss your mark, then why can't you say the same for the Bladedancer? Yes there are those out there that make us look bad, constantly spamming the Melee button. But I for one enjoy the use of both classes, and with being good with my golden gun comes the fact that I can blade dance just as well. I only ever hit the Melee button when I will hit my mark. You will never see me blatantly swinging in the air hoping for that lucky swing. Anyone can blade dance, but a good and accurate Bladedancer is hard to come by. Keep strong Hunters

I really do love my hunter gunslinger because it heavily rewards skill and usage of precision weaponry. Mainly because of the kill skills that are unique to the gunslinger. Gunslinger's trance and chain of woe either take a weapon with great stats and make it godly, or take a weapon with horrendous stats (like Super Good Advice) and flip it around entirely. Gunslingers were just meant to wield hand cannons, sniper rifles, and scout rifles; you get the idea. It is so satisfying that once I get rolling on small enemies, I can use a hand cannon with zero recoil. Headshot chains for days. Then there is the tripmine grenade. Very unique and very difficult to use. It can be tripmine and a sticky grenade. However it does not gravitate towards a target like the defender's magnetic grenade so I miss half of the time. If the battle is in an open field, no one will step on it. Now in a closed building, they're boned. Directional blast that is focused, long reaching, and powerful. How could I forget the throwing knives. So refreshing to be able to “melee" from such an extended range. Heavy skill required however. Then, gambler's dagger plus knife juggler ensures with skill that you always have a deadly knife at the ready. Lastly, the trusty golden gun. Accurate, long reaching, and the potential to decimate groups of enemies. Enough said. I did not intend to elaborate for so long, but I do love my gunslinger with me trusty hand cannon.

I salute all my gunslinging gods!
-
3 shots left actually, Aclyophage FTW
-
Please tell me you at least have a little respect for Bladedancers who do not use the Bladedance ability in Crucible, and shun all who use any form of active camo. Active camo is for those who fear facing their foes head-on, and Bladedancing is our tool against the Darkness, not each other.

2 отв."Tell your fireteam, we have 2 shots left." Best quote so far!

Gunslinger clan!

I have 4 shots :D

Lmao this is great.

You might be taking this a tad too seriously.
