Let's start by getting a few things out of the way.
1. I understand ALL supers are OP
2. This is not a rant or hate on the game
3. Refer to 1 and 2 before you hit post.
I am a Hunter. Have been since day one. Will be in 10 years. I am calling on my fellow Hunters to unite in the matter I am about to speak of. I need you to have my back against the uproar these statements may bring.
From purely a crucible standpoint, us hunters that thrive at the top of the leaderboards are truly the most skilled the game has to offer. Let me make my case. Now, there are 2 types of Hunters in this world. You've got your Gunslinger, then you have your Bladedancer. We don't like nor respect the Bladedancer for they are a plague and ruin our reputation. How can you respect a guy thats super is comprised of mindlessly hitting melee 40 times? No aim, just hit melee. We, Gunslingers can't respect that. So exclude yourself young Bladedancer, you're dismissed.
I realize there is much backlash about these statement made on Bladedancers. So for you guys I have quoted a fellow Hunter who explained it best
SisterSafetyPin:
Think of it like siblings that dislike the other until an outsider steps in
So, why are we the most skilled you ask?
A Gunslinger is born with a gun. This gun has 3 nuclear warheads on standby for any sorry SOB in our way. The only thing is, we actually have to aim and hit our targets.
We can't just hit Super, go invincible for a second and then punch the ground killing anything in sight. We can't just hit super, throw a barrage of missile like grenades that kill anything in its way. Nope, we aim, we shoot.
Us Gunslingers don't have a one hit melee that kills. Boy we don't even have a throwing knife that one shot kills to the head! Yes, a knife, we throw, precisely to the head will not kill. We aren't given a grenade that one hit kills. Scratch that, we have a trip mine, even that has to be directly under someone to kill. Unless we weaken our enemies first, these won't one shot.
Gunslingers don't turn invisible, we don't teleport, we don't blow bubbles so our friends may stand inside it to feel safe. We don't hover in the air, we won't resurrect, we don't have pockets full of grenades.
What we will do is stand our ground, headstrong behind our sights with fingers on the trigger. We represent the Golden Age where the only two things Holy are strength and a good aim. If you dare to step in the arena with us, you better bring your entire bag of magic, and even then you aren't guaranteed to stand a chance.
So go ahead, claim we lack in skill because our Golden Gun one shot you across the galaxy. Just don't discredit the fact that we one shot you across the galaxy. Oh, and don't forget to tell the remaining members of your fireteam we have 2 shots left.
Be proud Gunslingers. Not of who you are, but what it is you represent. You're one of a kind. The only aid you need are your whits and your firearm, anything else is just a luxury.
Stand Tall

Thank you Gunslingers for showing your support. Let us also thank you inferiors for tuning in as well (lol all jokes)! This has turned into something special!
Edit 2:
I honestly didn't believe this topic would gain as much attention as it did, it was just more a way to band together my fellow gunslingers. I guess there may have been prejudice in my post, however my opinion was based of pure observation and critical thinking. I don't mean for it to come off as ignorance, just to point out blatant lack of innate power of my Gunslingers, and that success without that power could be translated into true talent.
My apologies Guardians
Thanks for the support Hunters
Also, all you titans out there, there is a thread up for you!

This is true. Although I've only played as a guardian, I do hate it when I am clearly about ready to kill a Titan with higher defense than me or a warlock who has more tricks in the bag than me only for them to pull a cheap shot and use their super. On a one-on-one battle against someone else, if I am bested, then so be it. But when they know they're clearly outgunned and they pull those moves, it just pisses me off. Us Gunslingers don't have that, as you said. We have three possible nuclear warheads, and I say possible because if you miss, the enemy can get the upper hand. Warlord and Titans just need to shoot their super around you and there's no way you'll survive that. So yeah, I agree. And although I respect all guardians out there, I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees this.

I use both & will straight up admit its a whole lot easier to use gunslinger than blade dancer XD -Tripmines are almost always an easy kill or panic it behind an opponent to get a fast kill. They are the noobiest grenades in pvp, i use em on my gunslinger all the time -Golden gun has little risk when using it, u don't really put urself in any danger. U can activate it far more often than bd without much tactical use --gg has insane aim assist --losing a gunfight? Panic your knife or tripmine for a win --gg allows u to stay away from danger & kill from afar, much less risk Its far easier to use gunslinger than bd, i use both but prefer bd as it allows me to rush more effectively. I could care less about the supers as i love the gunfights but don't lie about gg or bd when REAL hunters don't discriminate against their own. Noobs hate us already, now other elitist hunters do too?
-
Let the rest of your firearm I have 3 shots left after I take you out . My helm somehow gives me 4 shots not sure how that ties in with lore or game logic but I love it
-
1 ответThere's a perk for gunslinger that makes it pretty much impossible to miss targets. I switched to bladedancer because getting 3 or 4 kills with gunslinger wasn't as satisfying as potentially getting 5 or 6 with bladedancer. Every subclass has its perks and its weaknesses. Gunslinger isn't any different.
-
2 отв.When I saw 'we disrespect Bladedancers' I stopped right there. A true hunter respects all fellow hunters and guardians that they have befriended including titans and warlocks
-
1. Throwing knives that do fire damage can 1-shot people. 2. Tripmines are more effective on walls, not floors. 3. Bladedancers drool. 4. Gunslingers rule.
-
I like bladedancer too but gunslinger with 4 shots FTW
-
Gunslinger or Bladedancer, it's all depending on situation. I have AC and MofTM on me for when I switch to my other subclass. BD allows me to solo everything in PVE. My friends aren't always online and finding randoms is a chore. I'm good enough to do it on my own. Gunslinger when I wanna have some fun in the crucible and try my hand against other guardians.
-
2 отв.i know its a joke but bladedancer is hard to stay alive while using, i ussually use it to go invisible and save teammates that have died during raids like this morning when he was using the sword on crota...

1 ответI have all 3 classes. I think they all have good and bad things. Skillwise, depends on the player, not the class. I think this type of posts are only a call for a bust of ego. "A" is better, "b" sucks, Im "a", so im better than you. Seriously, come on.
-
1 ответWhy cant we just be both. Its like you only use one class throughout your whole entire time of being a hunter. I use blade dancer and gunslinger equally. If it fits one situation i use one gunslinger and if it fits another i pick blade dancer. I just dont understand.
-
1 ответYou forgot the one aspect of our class which is so OP that it really does make us kind of casual for how much we flaunt it Our FABULOUSNESS~
-
1 ответWell said sir, well said.

1 ответThis post is great, im a Voidwalker myself. Got a lot of respect for the gunslingers, and just like you.. I hate the bladedancers. Imo, the Voidwalker & Gunslingers are the best subclasses, and require the most skill.. ( I M O )
-
I get way more kills as a GS than BD any day. 3-4 instakills is pretty beastly. And the throwig knife is off the chain if you know how to use it. I get headshot kill with it all the time.....stick around........nades yeah they suck.

4 отв.
This gun has 3 nuclear warheads on standby
You mean 4 guaranteed one shot kills, using the helmet that Xur sold a bunch of times.
We can't just hit Super, go invincible for a second and then punch the ground killing anything in sight.
You can hit super well before you see anyone and kill 4 people across the map from each other over a long period of time. How is this harder than timing a perfect AoE super to get two (or the OCCASIONAL three) kills?
Nope, we aim, we shoot.
Once again, way easier than getting close enough and timing an AoE super to get the same amount of kills.
Us Gunslingers don't have a one hit melee that kills.
... The sunsinger melee requires a super use and getting close enough to melee. Gunslinger one-shots at range. You have no factual, concrete ideas, you are just throwing out statements as if they back up your main point. I can be totally dominating a crucible game and then see some dude who is going .5 k/d get 3 or 4 kills per super use. I get a lot of nova bomb kills because I play a lot of control, so it a wash for me, but it is very difficult in deathmatch games to find people grouped up. Voidwalker a can hit things around corners with explosions which gunslingers cannot, I know. Fist of havoc is the hardest AoE super to use effectively. TL:DR You don't know what you're talking about, hunter supers are easy mode and require no skill or timing, often yielding more kills than perfectly timed and executed supers of other classes.

2 отв.How are supers OP? They're normally powered supers.
-
11 отв.Idk I have played gunslinger and bladedancer and BD is the harder of the two for supers. GG is super easy. Point, shoot, they die. Easy 3 kills every time. Arc Blade is super situational and you'll only get 1-2 unless you REALLY plan out where you super, and when you super. Gunslinger doesn't really take that much skill. I have both classes maxed and I've used Gunslinger more that BD. Bladedancer is simply cooler. It's pointless to argue skill among classes. It's also stupid to say bladedancers tarnish gunslingers rep. Slingers are the one who hang back 100 meters and snipe with golden gun for free easy kills. Both have advantages. If you feel any need to assert superiority because of your class you need help
-
2 отв.It's funny because no class can "hit super and go invincible" if you're so good then pull out that sniper and aim for the head and see if that Titan and or warlock lives because from past experience they drop. Also I think the gunslingers super is great but it's no the best and quite frankly anyone can pop off 3 or four shots and get at least one kill. I mean if you can't, well then you need to def brush up on those hand cannon skills. But all in all as much as this guy loves gunslingers it doesn't take that much skill to use them just get good. #NothingSpecial
-
I love playing my hunter. Just never use my BD super. Always forget about it since I hardly use it in pve anyways. Gunslinger is a great class. All about quick head shots and not missing. BladeDancer is fun too. I mostly use the invis to snipe or run around blinking behind opponents with either my universal remote or shadow price. Hunters super in PvP is lack luster but does require a good bit of skill to get any consecutive amount of kills.

1 ответИзменено (Jbelange): 12/30/2014 7:56:14 PMI do not believe in class wars whatsoever but I did enjoy and agree with this post. I have a warlock as well whom i love playing but i always prefer my gunslinger over another class or subclass. I love the trip mines, I love requiring accuracy with my golden gun as it so much more rewarding than lobbing balls of energy or grenades at enemies. I'll play my level 5 titan one day, just not feeling it yet

1 ответИзменено (taojedimaster): 12/30/2014 3:13:37 PMSo true. I started a hunter n had no crucible skill, am really just now getting decent. So I then created a Titan n killed with ease w the extra armor n op super. When I got the hang of it I deleted my Titan m went back to my hunter. For awhile I danced the blades n sometimes still do. Tho I track n target my kills vs swinging wildly. Can't deny it is fun to wipe an entire team or just a cpl if the rest r smart n run. But lately more often than not I have joined with the gunslingers. The throwing knife is handy esp when they try to run. N is the most fun and challenging way to play pvp. I lmao at those who say hunters r op. We r the least of the classes op. N lmao at those who don't want to take us into raids. Not only can we invis to crota to carry u all. But golden gun in vog has saved a few wipes slaying oracles in the atheon fight n took down many praetorians n miniatures saving my guys buts

2 отв.This has got to be one of the dumbest things I've read but hey to each his own. Funny how I haven't seen void walkers trying to belittle sunsingers. I now see why other classes hate hunters. Even within ourselves there's hate because blade dancers take less "skill" and I can bet I'll get a higher crucible score with my gunslinger than you can with a blade dancer. IMO, The way I see it gunslingers are the type of hunters who do not like close quarters and prefer dealing their damage from a distance. Blade dancers are your up close and personal type players.

2 отв.Proud Gunslinger from day one!
