Let's Talk Destiny's Storyline.... And why it is the way it is

Let me start off by saying watch that video first then come here.... So let me tell you why I linked you there for starters, Joe gives some good points on Destiny and some that I don't necessarily agree on.... Not the point, I linked you there because he was the only one I saw who gave a accurate review of the game Now let's get the real, Destiny's story.... where to begin oh I know just like The Speaker... I could tell you why the game has it's flaws in PvP and I could tell you why I hate the RNG loot system... But lately, those posts have died down. But, what can you do to help the forums and game a bit? Go out there and stop being a retard and a casual gamer who believes he is a god and that by saying "IM NEVER PLAYING AGAIN" Bungie will miraculously give 3 craps about you and stop what they are doing for you..... But Seriously...... Let's go to E3 2013 and discuss it but, before I get to that im going to link you to it's demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBNdrJMwrkc You saw it? Good Now, recently a user by the name 404Architect claimed he was a employee at Bungie and he wanted to talk about Destiny's current state and why it is the way it is... Now I for one believe him. Sure, he could be lieing because he can't prove that he works at Bungie but anybody in his position (say he acutally does work at Bungie) can't risk their job to statisfy our needs when he can do it from the shadows. Most of us, (Me included) believe that we got a half assed Destiny campaign and although that is true I believe that there are valid reasons for that... 1. The Departure of Joe Staten, for those of you who don't know Joe Staten was Lead Writer and Design Director of Destiny and a departure like that causes major issues in a triple A title like Destiny because Lead roles are not very easy to get and you have to be great at what you do to get it but not the point. In the AMA that was posted recently 404Architect says "I can confirm that there were sudden and abrupt changes in the development of Destiny less than a year ago. There was tension between higher ups the entire time we were developing the title due to a lack of cohesion about the vision for the game." and continues on to say " Then Joe left and everything just fell apart. By the time we were 7 months out to release, word came down that we were making massive revisions to the game's story. Huge portions of dialogue were excised and I think several recordings were redone to support the new narrative. Entire areas that would have been in the final game were removed, but some of the context wasn't, which explains weird reactions from NPCs and strange, unexplained motivations. We had a guy come in to write the grimoire cards who was given access to the original script with notations on what was cut and what needed to be revised in order to make this zombie of a game seem plausible." To me that sounds like the most plausible explanation to what happened because think about this for a moment okay? Your Lead Writer and Design Director leaves you 7 months before your launch of a new triple A title that people expect to be -blam!-ing fantastic. Now many of you are probably thinking: " he left so what wouldn't most of the major storyline be done?" and the answer should be yes it should and it probably was but they were still probably developing some areas so now you get a new Lead Writer and Design Director and the areas he wants to add dont go with what Staten made so they switch that and then they cut this and they move that and so on and so forth until you get near launch day... Let me backtrack a bit to where Bungie makes a deal with Activision for 10 years of rights to Destiny (something along those lines). Activision wants to publish this game NOW and im talking right now but Bungie isn't ready so Activision forces them to make there last minute changes and publish it. So we get a game that is essentially a shell missing components to work properly and Bungie can't do anything about it because they have to comply with Activision they already signed a contract. So it brings us to today, (Pretend your Bungie) You have millions of disappointed fans because you gave a half ass story line (really the only major flaw IMO because things like balancing and RNG and PvP Mechanics can be switched easily) and your sitting there reworking that lost time that you couldn't make into missions or story into exactly that and you want to release it later on in the year to gives this shell it's essentially missing components FOR FREE (maybe they wanted to make it paid not sure). Yet again Activision takes a crap on Bungie's hopes and makes them make it into Payable DLC and again Bungie is backed into a corner and forced to make it P2P (Pay to Play). Now, I believe that the cut content will be put into the DLC for one reason and that's because.... Grimoire Cards, the very being of your existence all the LORE you need exactly where you dont need it. Who would make up all this LORE and not use it in game or mention in some crucial point what it all means or at least most of it. From my POV Bungie is also at fault for this im not defending them for releasing a half ass game but all I'm trying to say is knowing how Activision is it seems like a stunt they would pull on us. So yes Bungie is at fault but I believe the majority of it lies on Activision and most us who know Activisions sly tactics know it was there fault. NOTE: If you notice some conflicting points in the post point them out because im reading 10 different articles and seeing peoples thoughts on things like this and I might have thrown in their opposite views in here by mistake! Edit 1: I want to point out something that's been bothering me as well and that's the fact that people say the game is incomplete and they released to little for the amount of time they spent on it because they started this 6 years ago and normally you spend 9/10 of project making textures, story, background, detail, ideas, planning, and re-doing stuff a lot. "But there is no story" - Everyone (not yet)
