I started a new hunter, level 5, did a public event on the far right corner of the cosmodrome, got an ascendant shard first time, then again in the same place with another event, earth seems a good place to start, but really heroic modified strikes and missions usually do the trick

Cheers for the reply! I was hoping there would be an "easier" way of getting these! Looks like I'll be patrolling in circles looking for public events once I've done my daily heroic
