Honestly, I haven't played such a sterile world since the original release of final fantasy 14. That game bombed so hard
It had a total overhaul and multiple apology letters from the publisher and whatnot. That SCARES the crap out of me. If Destiny is simply an 8 hour halo campaign with gun leveling the earth may tilt on its axis in the gaming community. And if so it would be the biggest gaming hoax of all time.

I agree. I am starting to think Destiny was a big lie on many fronts. Sad.

I hope destiny doesn't turn out the same because instead of getting an apology we would get Destiny 2

I hear you. And I like the idea of weekly raids and keeping things fresh. It works well in Madden, but running around the same areas may get boring fast. I don't know. In most mmo's you have DOZENS of classes. Here we have three and they all use the same guns- so far as we know. Will there be enough variety to keep you going? I hope so.

The only thing that's keeping me hopeful at this point (sustainability-wise) is that there are a ton of blank 'mystery slots' when you're searching through the Grimoir. Especially in weapons. But if they expect me to give them another 30 bucks at a time to access that stuff, they're high. I'm only level 17 and haven't even left the moon yet, so I'll do a final judgement on my own. But reading some of these posts and what I've experience so far, is leaving a good amount to be desired. Maybe we're all just jaded.

Weekly Raids are nice but the side missions so far in this game absolutely suck. I don't even want to touch free roam mode just to explore because of how bad they are and unfortunately it is one of those features which I believe will stay the same come release tomorrow night. We will all find out soon enough though.

I really hope it isn't, because I'd rather just watch it on YouTube and save my money. If the game is like that

I'm almost level 20 and the game really changes for the better around level 17 or so. The strike list is great, earning crucible and vanguard marks opens up, notes of light and strange coins. As I understand it, some areas of the maps even open up once you are level 20 as well. Mars and Venus with new enemy types was an awesome change as well as some New battle music also a plus and two strikes on Venus. New blue engram drops. Hell I wanted to call out of work last night and I'm a grown man. What a difference from level 17 on versus 11-16. Also I wasn't initially impressed with the sub classing system, but now that I am working on Sunsinger for my warlock it's like a new character all over and I am not penalized for switching my subclass on the fly back. For me that is something I haven't done in a game before and I am looking forward to leveling up my Titan. Also, I've bitched about the story and while it's generality is a concern, I noticed that as I am higher level I can now go back and play through the story levels sequentially and that has been helping me keep the narrative more in focus rather than stopping running patrols and strikes. I think it would be great if Bungie added a story list option where you could play a planets missions sequentially with a fire team like the strikes. I've also complained about the difficulty and the number of waves and amount of adds in the missions being too easy but the harder difficulty has addressed that concern pretty well. I hope Bungie adds a level 20 difficulty to all the missions-- calling it Epic or whatnot. Perhaps that is what the nightfall stuff is??? In short, I am really coming around and while I am not going to white wash my concerns they have faded a lot. dare I say I am actually enthused?!!
