I know this is a touchy subject, but it's true. A lot of video games are really violent. Most games have guns and you shoot people with them, and your goal is to kill. And the graphics are so good that you can have detailed gore. The games are really bloody like gears of war, gta, call of duty, and other games. It's no doubt that games are getting more violent.
Should society tone it down? It's really bad for some people because they think the games could happen like real life. But I think if you're responsible you should be okay.

If I can't do it in a game I might as well experiment in real life.

You're right..Isn't it awesome?

Murder rates have been dropping since the release of Doom. Keep children away from violent game not because it'll make em go nuts, but because they should play some stuff more intelligent that teaches them imagination, patience, and perseverance like Zelda, platformers, adventure games and the like. Jumping into the online FPS community as a child is a good way to turn a kid into a blathering idiot screaming about his K/D and noobs.

I've noticed a lot of violence as well. Can't remeber the last time I played a game without any real violence in it, which is what I get for getting rid of my wii.
-
That's not violence. That's colorful visual description.

Actually playing video games is one of the biggest anti depressants so i doubt they're gonna go any kill everyone. Second people that are -blam!-ed up in the head are the ones that go and shoot people becuz they are already messed up...not cuz of games. but in my opinion the gorier the better.

Normal people can tell the differences between real life and a video game. I've been playing violent video games since I was in preschool and I haven't went on some killing spree or killed people in real life.

There's no problem with that.

We have always enjoyed violent entertainment. And usually at the expense of others, or animals. Games atleast give us a way of enjoying this without anyone getting hurt.
-
Well, it's pretty apparent that violent video games can desensitize people to violence itself. How much it desensitizes us depends on how mature we are and what other, balancing forces are in our lives. Kids who are too young and/or immature to draw a line between games and reality are going to be affected. Kids who get too wrapped up in their video game world are going to be affected. I think the ESRB system should be better enforced, but the framework for rating games is good. In the future, I think (hope) games will mature past the "look how many bloods are on the screen" stage and create more meaningful experiences. Thanks to that element of player interactivity, there's an opportunity to tell really unique and powerful stories.

Should we tone down violent movies? Violent music? They come with ratings and warnings. That's enough.
-
If it was that big of a problem we'd see more video game related shootings.
-
Violence has been in entertainment since the dawn of communication. First they told stories, then they acted them out, then they drew pictures, then they wrote books and plays, then they made films, and now they make games. Humans love war and violence, it's just our nature.

3 отв.Go buy a Wii U and play another recycled Mario game then. Leave real gaming to the big boys.

But there is obviously a reason why it did not return in subsequent titles.
gears of war
Sure the game has you wading through rivers of blood but after a chainsaw kill if you look at the enemy its not like their head/torso is split down the middle.
gta
Once again, not a gory game. Most kills are nothing more than a red splotch of blood and a guy falling over. Games don't really contain much (if any) gore when compared to x # of generic hollywood horror movies where the whole "plot" is some deranged nutjob hacking up some poor woman and her family.

All the games you mentioned are rated M, I think, so they're for 17+ year olds. Adults can play whatever they want, you fascist.
-
Compared to movies? No way. Parents should monitor what their children play though.
-
The only CoD game that was bloody was WaW. We need to tone it up. If I don't get PTSD from playing Kirby something is wrong.
-
You cannot relate video games and real life together.
-
lolno Anyone that thinks violence in videos games relates to real life is an idiot. Violence and videos games does not cause real violence. Also censoring video games will never happen and SHOULD never happen unless you are ok censoring all the graphic books, movies, and other forms of media too. Lastly if something is violent then it's the PARENTS job to keep their stupid kids away from it. I hate it when a kid imitates something from a violent movie or game and the parents blame the medium for it. No stupid parent, what that is called is bad parenting and buying your children stuff they have no business playing in the first place.

Never! I demand even more blood!!!
