Do Microsoft and Sony not understand the currency difference? Do they think they can trick everyone by having the numbers close?
Edit: Taxes suck.
For those who don't know, the X1 costs £430 and the PS4 costs £350. That equals to around $710CAN/$680US and $560CAN/$540US. I don't even live in Britain but that is outrageous. The rest of the European market also has to pay more, not as much but still more than North Americans.
What do you think of this?

3 отв.Taxes baby! Blame the country's government for being so -blam!-ing stupid! Also importation and packaging fees.

1 ответIf anybody still watched/read the news once in a while then people would know why the next-gen consoles cost more in Europe. The euro and the pound has far less value than it did 5 years ago. Even the U.S. dollar is becoming less valuable because our Federal Reserve is printing money to monetize the national debt. Simply put- Printing more paper money + country accumlinating astronomical debt = everything costs WAY more over time. This has been your economics lesson for the day. You may now return to your regularly scheduled gaming discussions.

blame taxes, not microsoft.

1 ответIt's roughly $550 for the PS4 and $600 for the X1 here in Australia. I may be wrong, but I think it may have to do with: 1) US' prices not including tax; and 2) Exchange rates

3 отв.according to my converter it isn't that outrageous, but the price does differ by $60 for the PS4 and and $70 for the XB1. The EU might have extra import taxes or other price raising law also.
