This isn't meant to be a racist troll thread, but an honest debate about where we are with race relations in 2013 in America.
I feel that the pendulum is swinging back, and that Americans are becoming more comfortable being openly racist and critical of black America. The whole country is watching what has been happening in Chicago for example, and people are just fed up. The vast majority of black people born in America today are born to single mothers, many of which are very young themselves. Compared to whites, Hispanics, Asians, the percentage is significantly higher. The last figure from the CDC was that 73% of blacks are born out of wedlock today.
Many Americans seem to be watching year after year the breakdown of the black family continue to get worse and worse. And there doesn't seem to be any solution. In fact, our society may be contributing to this decline by incentivizing young black women (or any race) to have more and more out of wedlock children. These single mothers cannot control their kids, and they grow up on the streets involved in crime.
The statistics on crime are frightening. Personally I live in a large major city and see first hand the differences between the black community and other communities. Most of the violent crime, from assaults to robberies to car jackings are done by young black males. It's gotten to the point where I assume that young black men on the streets probably have guns.
But like I said, it feels as though after decades of promoting political correctness, the pendulum is swinging the other way. People are speaking up and I wonder if this country has just flat out grown tired of the black community in general.
So what do you think, honestly? Is it economics? Cultural? Societal? Does white America oppress black America, causing this cycle? Or have blacks be given sufficient opportunity and failed on their own? But more importantly, are race relations in this country going to get better or worse in the coming years?

The culture of drugs, welfare, and violence needs to change, plain and simple. In this day and age all races have the same opportunities in life, so blaming it on 'oppression' isn't it. Also, the 'black community' isn't to blame. Individuals of Caucasian, Spanish, and African American descent all contribute to violence and corruption. Using Chicago as an example is one, but go look at LA and similar places to see the rampant number of Hispanic gangs running around unchecked.

Maybe not racist, but being more critical is a welcome change, as a free pass on judgement and where responsibility has been the norm for to long.

Given the tools and have failed there is no more oppression against blacks. No more then there is with everyone else.

It's not that we're getting fed up with the black community, but rather the ones that do no good, and serve only to cause trouble.

The black community that just kills each other and mooch's off of our tax dollars? Yes. The black people who are contributors to society? They are good, like anyone of any other race that is positive for society.
