Probably just the zoom of the weapon making it seem like you are moving faster. Hand cannons have 1.4x zoom, pulse rifles are 1.7x.

Yeah but that zoom would hardly seem noticeable, at least not in the way I see the movement. Good idea though.

Are you kidding? That nearly twice the zoom. Makes a big difference.
