While this is a personal issue, talking with other members of the community I am not alone. We spent 8 years over Destiny 1 and 2 chasing god roll weapons. With the Witch Queen expansion that changed with the ability to craft the weapons as long as we got the red borders needed to unlock that weapon at the Enclave for crafting. At First it was really nice skipping some farming. I know feel the opposite, crafting has killed the loot chase in many parts of the game. No need to do 60+ raids looking for the god roll since you could do one per week and at the latest get all the red borders in 5 weeks (assuming you are looking for weapons in the newest raid that is not yet in the weekly raid rotator). Me and other who are probably in the lower percent of the community would love to see crafting gone all together, keep the ability to enhance weapons we get via weapon leveling in our inventory. Maybe another overhaul to crafting to farm for specific materials to craft weapons (something similar to Warframe perhaps). Listen I know this is primarily a personal gripe about the state of loot chasing in Destiny, but I felt the need to place my thoughts here. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No absolutely not. Removal of crafting was one of the worst decisions they made in recent history. It was horrible advise that they followed. Nobody is forcing crafting on anyone. You can still loot chase. Crafted weapons were no longer better once they allowed enhancement to perks on dropped weapons. I want bungie to stop listening to terrible advise that continues to bleed players. The argument for the Removal of weapon crafting was to bring back the loot chase and the farming. But when the loot chase and farming of your game is absolutely abysmal, to the point of proving that certain perks are weighted to drop less often, people aren't going to continue playing. Removal of weapon crafting did absolutely nothing to bring players back. It pushed more away. It's fine if weapon crafting doesn't return for raids. But it needs to return for episode weapons at a minimum.

This is such a bad take. If you don't like crafting, and want to grind for a god roll the old fashioned way, then you can. You don't have to craft, you could delete red borders that drop, or unlock patterns but not use them. Nothing forced you to use crafting

2 отв.I would be fine with crafting if they didn’t allow enhanced perks.

I dont think raids ever should have gotten crafting. tripple perks per column for the adepts was more than enough. They shoudl have kept crafting in seasonal stuff for casual players but: 1) They should have never introduced the just buy on weekly for an engram. I think I had all seasonal red boarders just buy cashing in engrams w/o having to play the content. 2) Enhancable perks should have been reserved for natural drops only. Removal of crafting for seasonal stuff only pissed off casual playerbase as adding crafting to reprised raids; they dont do anyways doesn't help nor encorouge them to try end game content.
No need to do 60+ raids looking for the god roll since you could do one per week and at the latest get all the red borders in 5 weeks
No, what's crazy is a guy running the Raid 1 time, pulling a godroll of the only loot worthwhile then not touching it again. Meanwhile, his buddy has run it 70 times or farmed a specific encounter several hundred and has NEVER gotten their desired roll. That's no way to promote player retention. It's mind boggling anyone would complain about their time being respected with RNG Insurance via Red Borders. You still have to complete the Raid 5 times. You still need Spoils to focus the weapons, thereby forcing you to run more/other Raid encounters. WHERE Crafting went awry was with Harmonizers. As a non-Raider, I've heavily abused this system to pull Raid patterns from Raids I've barely participated in.

Like how VoG weapons will be craftable with new perks next episode. Regular new guns will be getting a total rework with the new expansion.
