I never really gave Assassin's Cowl enough love on arc. Mostly because I prefer Wormhusk Crown for that streamline of health. I do need to get into it more, though.

If you wanna play Hunter easy mode, Assassin's cowl is the way. Works brilliantly on Arc and very good on solar also, especially this season. I've used Cowl/Solar to solo flawless Duality dungeon, several times. I've used Cowl/Arc to solo flawless Spire Dungeon, several times. I've used Cowl/Solar to solo flawless Pit dungeon, over 100 times. I've used Cowl/Solar & Arc to solo flawless Ghosts. About the only dungeon I never used Assassin's cowl to solo flawless was Grasp, and I'm 100% positive it would be a walk in the park to use it there too. When you have access to free 100% healing and invisibility at the same time with no concern about cool down, you have easy mode. Give it a try and then tell me Hunter isn't easy mode. I'm sure you'll be very surprised at how effective it is.

I use Assassin's Cowl on Solar and Strand (just never found a good alternative). It's not as "easy mode" as you think. What are you gonna glare and think angry thoughts? You'll have to attack eventually, then it's all over when the enemies all fire your way. I like the weighted knife with Knock 'Em Down, but that aspect doesn't work with either the lightweight (which sucks anyways) or the knife trick. Proximity you'll just -blam!-. The flaw with Weighted is having to track your enemies for a full million years as you character decides to showboat their knife flipping skills before plunging it into your enemy's cranium. Arc's melee is basically just healing on final blows. Yes, it gets stronger with final blows, but in high-end content it's extremely difficult to keep going. Hence why I never used it. Besides, invisibility isn't long enough for health regen to proc anyway. You only get MAYBE 5 seconds off a good target and it takes JUST longer than that to proc, plus enemies just randomly knowing where you are. I've tried, the champions just intrinsically seem to have aimbot. It's worse when one of them is a Barrier. That's why I have a much better appreciation for the Overload/Unstoppable duo.

I’ve used knock em down with knife trick for months . Works fine for me.
-
Doesn't refund at all. Damn thing's been busted since Sot Haunted and Bungie still hasn't fixed it.
-
Refunds every time for me. Are you leaving 1 second between each knife throw for the internal cooldown?
-
What are you talking about? There is no cooldown.
-
Funny thing happens with the refresh effect. It comes with a built in one second cooldown. If you kill something and then kill another thing before one second has passed you won’t get it refunded. The prox knife and weighted knife bypass that by having a delayed explosion and long wind up period, respectively. With knife trick you have to wait a second in between throws. If you don’t believe me you can boot up the game and try.
-
I guess that could explain the weighted, but what about shot-kills with proxy? I see how the delayed explosion could refund, but what about direct hits? Why does that work if that's the case?
-
Prox knife also has a little more of a wind up I think, plus you have to aim it a little more if you want a DI.
-
I used to use proxy until they made the "idiot penalty" an instant kill. Suicide by throwing knives and yet I can't even do it with a grenade. Smooth... 😑

Finishers also give invisibility and depending on the level of enemy you get up to 13 seconds. If that ain't enough for you to recover, I think you're a bad player. But, whatever works for you, I guess. For me it's easy mode. If I can solo flawless content that's made to be played by three people WITHOUT dying, that's easy mode, fact. And I'm an old man with piss poor eye sight and slow reflexes, you young kids should have no issue with it.

Talking about being an elderly man as though you think it's real. I've never once gotten any more than a good 6 seconds. I don't know what the hell you're running, but it's clearly not Assassin's Cowl. Besides, like I said, enemies can track you even when you're invisible. Assassin's Cowl is only useful for healing.
-
I'll just call you an amateur then and be done with this conversation, you clearly have no clue what you're doing. Good luck with being average at best.
-
Right, because try combining Healing Rift, Heat Rises, Touch of Flame Well of Radiance, tacking on healing grenade and spinning up Heir Apparent. Because I'm the moron claiming how much better Hunters are than an already broken as hell setup.
-
You do you, cupcake. I'll continue to play easy mode and get the job done😉
-
Easy mode for you. I'll stick to running flawless Warlock. Speaking of which, wasn't Grasp the weekly dungeon? Later, tater!
-
Meh. 78 solo flawless grasp runs already. ........ Boring
-
Good for you. I don't do dungeons and raids too much. I just want the triumph. Maybe if I can grab some good gear, but that's about it.
-
Give it a try!! There's plenty of arc 3.0 vids showing how this build works... hopefully this helps getting a few exotics on your hunter!!

I use Assassin's Cowl on Solar and Strand, I just never considered it for arc. I will give it a try, though.
