Extra Clarification On Cross Save
I apologize if this is a dumb question, but I want to make sure that I properly understand the restrictions of cross-save before I choose which account to make my main one. I recently got the Legacy Collection for free through the Epic Games store during their winter sale stuff. I have never purchased anything for the game so that is not part of my concern.
I have previously played Destiny 2 using my Steam account, and understand that when setting up cross-save, it specifically states that licenses do not transfer across platforms. However, I want to know exactly what that means before I make my decision.
Does this mean if I choose to use my Steam account that I will barred from my DLC completely until I disable cross-save, or does it depend on which platform I use to open the game?

The characters you play with on a platform you have DLCs installed will have access to that content, regardless if the characters originate from a different platform. Please note that you choose the characters you want to play with, not the platform you will play on, which in this case are your Steam characters. Your Steam characters will have access to the DLCs on Epic while you play on Epic. If you go to play with them on Steam, they will not have access to the same DLCs unless you purchase those on Steam. Unlike DLCs, Season Passes and Dungeon keys get applied to the active characters on an account when you buy them so they go with those characters wherever they are used.
