"Chill mode" = a mode where I can kill all the "noobs"
"Sweat mode" = a mode where I have to actually TRY to win
All you want is to play people who are worse than you, so you can enjoy yourself at the expense of those players. If you want "easy" games, play a mode that uses CBMM, like Trials or the Relentless playlists. Even the 6v6 Control only uses "loose" SBMM.

Chill mode is CBMM… it’s not anyone else fault that you suck 🤷♂️
-
A chill mode is a mode where there isn't pressure to win... Kind of like Control. The whole purpose of Control is to have fun. That is it. There aren't rewards at stake. Your definition of a "chill" game only happens when you don't have to try, like when you're significantly better than the other team. By your own definition, that means that the other team didn't have a chill game (but it was chill for you). The only way for you to have fun is at the other team's expense. SBMM standardizes the experience for everyone, so everyone experiences as much fun (or pain) as anyone else.
-
My definition of a chill game is CBMM. Put me against 11 other players idc who they are. Whether you do good or not is PURELY a skill thing. Whether you care or not isn’t anyone else’s fault but the players. Dont wanna lose more? Get good. That simple. Wanting SBMM is the exact opposite of chill… bad players are just mad cause THEIR definition of chill is not having to try while not constantly losing
-
Wanting SBMM is the exact opposite of chill… bad players are just mad cause THEIR definition of chill is not having to try while not constantly losing
This doesn't make sense. SBMM results in CLOSER games and more even matchups, not necessarily games that result in more wins or losses. You're so vague it hurts. Your definition of a chill game is CBMM, but you didn't mention why that is. Complete your thought
-
You literally just said winning and losing doesn’t matter… why are you so focused on “competitive matches”??? it doesn’t… matter… CBMM is better cause I don’t have to wait longer to face the same exact players. Whether I do good or not is purely on me and I get to avoid lag way more than I don’t… If me.. or anyone else wants competitive… comp exists 🤷♂️
-
1-sided games are not fun. Even though winning and losing doesn't matter in Control, it's still not fun to play against a team that is much better or much worse than you. So you'd enjoy SBMM just as much as CBMM if the connection-quality was good and you didn't match the same players over and over?
-
You think lob sided games don’t happen under SBMM??? Of course. Just like you would enjoy CBMM if you weren’t getting stomped. Sadly neither exist. So punishing the more consistent playerbase that actually put in time to get good with lower quality matches and longer queues doesn’t really make sense. If a mode is going to separate players it always needs to make it worth it.
-
You think lob sided games don’t happen under SBMM???
I think lop-sided matches are less common with SBMM than with CBMM.
Of course. Just like you would enjoy CBMM if you weren’t getting stomped.
You are incorrectly assuming my motivation behind wanting SBMM. I enjoy SBMM, because it is a fairer game mode. It creates more even team matchups and results in fewer Mercies.
If a mode is going to separate players it always needs to make it worth it.
The logical addendum to your comment is that modes that reward you should seperate players. Actually, the only mode that punishes losses and rewards winning is Trials, and it uses CBMM. Are you saying that Trials should be SBMM?
-
Competitive has different rewards the higher you climb… it’s not uncommon to reward higher skilled players better when separating them based off of it… You’ve been incorrectly assuming why players like me prefer CBM this entire time… Less blowouts should happen under SBMM. It’s what it’s intended to do. But that also means that longer queue times and laggier matches happen more often as well… The happy medium leaning way more towards the side that rarely plays crucible just doesn’t seem to make sense considering how much every competitive mode has already gotten watered down for that same side…

-
You mean before SBMM was added to Control? I agree with you, but the Comp playlist isn't what new players jump into - it's control.
-
Elimination. wasn't comp, nor Control. It was the best Fair mode that was available at the time for New players, and those looking for Fair matches. I already brought up the Test Bungie did during Forsaken like 50 times, where they had CBMM, and SBMM running together, and Majority chose CBMM over SBMM, being the Jump into Mode. Now, since D2 is coming to a Close, lets just go back to having a CBMM, and a SBMM in the Jump in Playlist.
-
I wanna play chill mode now
-
Haha, yes, I think a lot of people do, but not many openly admit to it! Kudos
-
By asking for sbmm you’re asking for the same thing ? Non sbmm CASUAL 6v6 modes are RANDOM and therefore fair ? Better connection some hard games some easy games ? Random and fair bot tf out of here with ya 0.6

Games are casual when there is no reason to win other than the internal drive to succeed. In Relentless playlists, the rewards for both the losing and winning teams are the exact same. The only reason to win is the joy gained by succeeding. In fact, I would argue that beating a good team is far more rewarding than beating a bad team. If you want to use a new loadout, then yes, you might not win every game, but your expectation shouldn't be to win every game. That's just silly. Comp gets away with using SBMM by modifying the point gains and losses to guarantee that you end up in the Rank that matches your skill bracket, so there isn't really any penalty for losing there, either. For example, if you're an Ascendent player, you can literally lose half of your games and still make it to 10000 (they keep changing Comp, so idk if that remains true). Trials is the only mode that truly punishes losing and rewards winning, and it uses CBMM. Unless you are rewarded for winning or penalized for losing, the game mode is casual, because the only reason to win is personal desire. If you're "sweating" in a Relentless playlist, then that's entirely on you.

I don’t wanna play players “worse” than me lol I want to have this thing called FUN using whatever playing just relaxing not every game has to be played like it’s for money I’m fine playing players my own skill even better but not EVERY game using only meta it get stale a brand new season came out with brand new guns and in my games people ONLY use the top meta guns you can’t even try new stuff when a season drops lol and to say trials is cbmm is a joke lol I consistently have a 1.7 or higher in trials and play almost only carry teams or 2k mmr teams half the time I can’t get 7 wins in a row despite having that high or a kd and playing well 6v6 is no different 5 out of the 6 players I play will have a 2kd or higher so that’s not cbmm in the slightest
-
Trials is CBMM. The "meta" is just what is popular, and what is most effective for you may not be the most popular loadout. Regardless, how you USE the loadout varies dramatically from player to player, and there is a lot of room for experimentation. Additionally, if you're trying a loadout out, it's better to use it against players who know what they're doing. Noobs will die to literally anything, but playing decent players will help you identify weaknesses in your build or playstyle. The only mode that uses any form of "true" SBMM is Comp. D2's extremely loose SBMM is practically the same as playing pure CBMM, and if you seriously can't have fun using wacky loadouts, then it's more a reflection of your inability to have fun than a reflection of the matchmaking.

Chill mode = relax and run silly weapons while facing a variety of players Sweat mode= face players of my same skill and see how I hold up That’s how I look at it lol
-
This is it. This is how it should be
-
Exactly bro I don’t wanna face “noobs” just to poop on them I wanna run my funny load out try out new guns what not no just try as hard as I can every game
-
Agreed. But apparently in this community wanting to chill automatically means “go stomp on noobs” Like no, i don’t want to crush trashcans. I want to chill, I want to run fun loadoits, try new stuff while being to face different skills players in the process, not run around like it’s WW3.

you know, before Season of the Seraph, before they SBMM the C$$$ out of PVP, i was stating such points, and was told to F### Off. Im glad others are coming around, and Understanding there's a Difference in Stomping, and Chilling.
