So, I’ve really been enjoying Season of the Lost. I absolutely love the world design, the reintroduction of the Queen, the story with Ager’s Scepter, and most of all the involvement of Savathûn.
But that sidearm, Spoiler Alert. Someone is going to die. Who?
I think it’s going to be Mara Sov.
My reasoning here is that her story this season has reminded me of Saladin in Season 13, and Lakshmi in Season 14. They’re on our side, but at the same time they’re kind of antagonists. We mainly see this in the Ager’s Scpetre quest, but the revelations about Mara’s treatment of Uldren really turned me against the character. Mara seems so self confident that it’s almost guaranteed to backfire, and I propose that when the exorcism ritual happens and Savathûn’s worm is killed, she’s going to come back with the Light and actually kill Mara Sov.
This would be huge. This twist would cement Savathûn even more as Destiny’s greatest villain.
Furthermore, it supports the logistics of the Witch Queen. Bungie recently talked about why Eris wasn’t in Season of the Lost, and mentioned about having too large a cast of characters in an expansion. If Mara is dead, this is the cast I would propose:
-Ikora, we know she is in it.
-Saint-14, he might want revenge for Osiris’ death (if he is dead, of course, which I do think he is)
-The Crow, he has a very personal relationship with Savathûn and should absolutely be involved.
-Eris Morn, due to her feud with Savathûn. She wasn’t in this season, so I’m expecting her to be in the Witch Queen.
-and of course, Savathûn and the Guardian.
So, Mara’s death would make the cast of characters in Witch Queen a little smaller and easier for Bungie to manage. I know Petra would be on that list if Mara died, but I’d say her and Saint are exchangeable since their reasons are quite similar.
So, what do you guys think? Who do you think might die this season? I know Spider is also an obvious choice, but that’s not so related to this story.

10 отв.I for one don’t think Osiris is dead. Simple explanation as to why? Not enough focus on the character before he was taken. In a sick and twisted show of honesty, I think Savathûn will keep her word. She’ll return Osiris to us, hell he might even be the catalyst for our push into her Throne World. Might be he knows something.

4 отв.Technically killing her would be pointless since she has a throne world, which we saw in the forsaken campaign. So she could just come back at any time. Also she seems to have more of a roll to play in the future, not too mention she was alive in the dark future lore book. Its most likely going to be; Zavala, ikora, saladin or osiris. Not counting savathun since we already know she will die and be brought back as a hive guardian.

6 отв.Изменено (TheArtist): 11/23/2021 8:50:05 PMPossibly. But I think Savathun is the kind that loves to let their enemies suffer with the knowledge of their defeat/failure. (In a Sci-fi series I'm watching (Foundatiion) The Galactic Emperor:
Instead of killing a prisoner he considered a traitor, had EVERY one she ever knew or had significant relationships with...and all THEIR significant relationships... assassinated. Then condemned her to live out the rest of her life in sensory deprivation. Essentially in a manufactured "locked-in" state. So he not only did everything possible to elimiate any MEMORY of her ever having existed, he condemned her to a living Hell....and told her this so that this was what she would have to live with BEFORE he condemned her to that Hell. There are so fates that are TRULY worse than death. I was watching this thinking, "What twisted mind even comes UP with something like this"?
Savathun is that kind of twisted mind. The person that I think is sure to die is Osiris. His ghost is missing. Savathun has been wearing him like a suit for most of a year. We only have her "word" that he is still alive.... ...and the actor who does the voice of Osiris now has prominent role on Star Trek: Discovery. He plays a Starfleet Admiral that he plays in the same low-key, yet sharp-witted way that he played Osiris. So I think they'll kill off Osiris rather than compete with a TV series to gain access to him, and he isn't SO central to the story (like Ikora) that the character is worth finding a long-term replacement.

1 ответHave anyone ever read an Egyptian lore about their "Osiris"? I feel like somehow it'll be similar in d2 universe. Just a thought.

If Savathûn is telling the truth about everything so far, I don't think she wants someone like Mara dead. She's too smart and Savathûn must know that Mara is a strong ally against the Darkness. Not to mention the fact she's basically a god at this point. She has a Throne World, Oryx's power and she's the first Awoken. The most impactful death imo would be Osiris, even if its just confirmation that he's already dead. Ikora and Saint are already desperately trying to find him because of how close they are to him, they're beating themselves up over the fact they never realised that he was Savathûn in disguise since he came back from the moon, and Osiris became a more prominent character more recently especially since beyond light. Getting a little meta, Bungie could have been setting this up since Osiris decided to bring Saint back. Again, just to add to the impact of his death here. Either way, I don't think Mara is dying.

We won’t see a damn thing for a few months now.

13 отв.Honestly I think Osiris is already dead and that's the dead character they speak of

1 ответActually man, we take mara for some side action. Shaxx gets pissed and turns to savathune and the darkness and becomes a raid boss. 🤣

4 отв.If Mara dies by Savathûn's hand (which I hope happens tbh), then Spider will likely escape/be successfully evacuated by Drifter as Petra will be too busy having to maintain the Awoken's hierarchy
