Hello, voice of reason. Finally someone who somewhat agrees with me. These things we've had since D1 called PRIMARY WEAPONS are called PRIMARY WEAPONS for more reasons than just having more ammo and should be used as such. There is an issue when a guy can spam a special weapon for the vast majority of their kills, that doesn't prove skill, it proves you have a crutch, especially when more than one guy is targeting the same person with these weapons.

That is the biggest problem.

Primary weapons are fine where they are, it's the frequency people can use special weapons that's the issue. Scavenger perks are fine, especially for weapons like snipers and trace rifles, but while I would expect it to be difficult to code, you shouldn't get more ammo than the other person had. What the OP said would probably work, actually making people work for the ammo should basically mean a free kill if you know what you're doing, but I would add to that and make it so you can't have more special ammo than your mag can hold to prevent essentially stocking up enough ammo that you won't have to worry about it.
