Winners don’t make arbitrary rules to handicap themselves from winning, they use the best gear and abilities and win.
They don’t worry about being fair or other player’s opinions about how skilled they are. And they certainly don’t lay awake at night worrying what the players they just stomped think about their skill or the fairness of the fight.
There will always be a meta and saying 120’s or felwinter’s lie or stasis or Le monarch or bastion is cracked and isn’t fair and therefore should be nerfed won’t make you a better player. Learning how to counter and adapt will.
Something will always be next in line to replace that “broken” strategy. Game awareness along with knowing counters and the counters to those counters makes you a good player, not salt posting about the meta.

2 отв.I actually got some fan mail last night. Dude was mad because he pushed corners with a primary, and ignored heavy entirely... in Showdown. Not sure why he expected anything other than eating shotguns and wardcliffs... 😂

4 отв.Thinking the meta will make you top tier you will only make you blind to the fact you not that good in multiplayer. I laugh when i use 450 ARs and a sidearm, and go on 10 kill streaks. Smart plays beat the meta every time. The only weapon smart players need is their brain.
-
1 ответRight. But using the meta on the regular doesn't make u a good player by any means either. Goes both ways

3 отв.hey real quick whats the counter to getting frozen by a tracking shuriken please i want to learn so i can be better

2 отв.Good players will kill bad players no matter the meta

7 отв.It’s always the barely above average players or complete trash players saying crap like this While running easiest options available to them. “JuSt aDaPt bRo” 120s are the easiest primary ever to exist in destiny The skill gap now is lower than it has ever been imo Can i still run people over? Yea Is the meta terrible and annoying? Double yea

1 ответDon’t know about you, but using the same thing for two or three seasons isn’t fun. There is a lot of weapon diversity in this game. The problem arises when two or three weapons are clearly better than everything else and by a huge margin. 120s aren’t better in terms of ttk, but are easier for everyone to use. Why use something that has a fast ttk like a pulse rifle when you can shoot someone in the chest three times instead. I don’t know how that can be fun. Also, this game will never be competitive and will never be a “game of chess.”
-
The point is the meta is weighted for skillless spamming - abilities and OHK shotgunning, with few drawbacks and counters nerfed - and otherwise weighted toward a single archetype 120s. It outcompetes Scout, Pulse, AR. Nor does everyone enjoy or are good at that one best choice. So, yes, there is of course some skill and experience remaining as you imply but the criticism is of a severe lack of PvP weapon diversity (top ten is virtually all HCs & Shotguns with a few exotics), a lack of effective counters, and significantly diminished gunplay over cheesey spamming.

1 ответИзменено (an Ape with a d2 addiction): 4/1/2021 1:08:04 PMIf this game was stripped of everything so that only the white guns remained without any subclasses, there'd still be the meta picks. Feels lotta folks have forgotten what the abbreviation even stands for and why it exists. And after the X white gun establishes itself as the meta the forums'll be filled with nerf requests and crutch allegations. Often typed soon after bad match events. And all'll be well in the land, as was fated.

40 отв.Изменено (hate n payne): 3/30/2021 10:02:49 PMPlaying with the META is no more than a handicap and not a skill. I dont understand how players arent understanding that. You talk about how bad players are when using non META against the META but not about how bad players are for using it. Bungie is purposely handing you a “Get out of jail skill” card with the META and yet you want to clown players who are being off META warriors. What has this game become? If Bungie decided one season to not introduce a META, would a bunch of you still be on your high horse or would you be considered the “bad” player? When you buff a specific archetype and not address the entirety of the weapon classes that is clear cut favoritism. Look at the light classes right now against Stasis. There are some that can hold their own with the right player using it but in all they are incoherently struggling against it. Stasis alone proves that the system caters to the META how it is somewhat superior to light classes that arent being addressed. It is common sense at its finest and alot of yall seem to be blinded by it. Thats like putting the fastest runner on the track team up against a rookie, one has been trained to handle the current season while the other hasnt trained a day in their lives. Who do you think will win?

1 ответИзменено (llSpAxXll): 3/31/2021 7:22:56 PM1: quick play or crux in general shouldn’t be top sport where ‘winners’ can only be as best effective with the most broken and forgiving stuff. 2: why does there need to be a ‘meta’. Why does bungie feel the need to adapt weapon balancing in The favor of ‘a’ archetype and can’t make it so that all weapons can flourish good within its intended purpose. Its leading to stale and boring loadouts and people will complain about said loadouts because there ffing singled out ON PURPOSE to promote their new shiny thing to pursue. Its lame, and boring as F.
-
5 отв.Notice how all the players that complain about meta are statistically mediocre at best. They can keep blaming the meta on every failed lighthouse attempt, every lost survival match, every IB mercy they receive. No matter how much they complain that won’t make them win. So let them 🤷♂️
-
I've been using these three loadouts for awhile now Thorn and The Recluse Outbreak perfected and frozen orbit Revoker and palindrome I know some are in the meta but outbreak is almost never used now, from what I've seen.
-
2 отв.Top tier players when playing private matches often exclude meta weapons and classes. The first thing out of their mouths is usually what guns and abilities are off limits. Same with CoD. A lot of high level players will only equip the meta in trials if their opponents are exploiting, 3-peaking, or very high level players. Now this doesn’t negate your larger point, but it does suggest that players of high skill understand that certain loadouts and classes are better that others. I have also heard top tier players suggest that they don’t use stasis because they think they might lose their edge due to its simplicity of use. This was before the nerfs, of course.
-
Not using vertical space and peaking wrong is why most players are bad at crucible. Also radar awareness.....
-
This exactly is the mentality that good players have. You can continue to grow if you don’t blame your deaths on your opponents loadout. Once you start accepting there isn’t a way to improve or beat a play style you won’t be able to. It’s crazy to me how many people get stuck in the scrub mentality and stop progressing because the lock them selves out of improvement.
-
no, a good chunk is due to mouse and keyboard cheaters, and fighting people on ps5.
-
The meta will always be a part of why you lose. You want to use something that *isn't* meta? You increase the risk of losing and playing badly. More people are running top tier meta loadouts on the opposing team than yours? Increased risk of losing.

6 отв.There always being a meta doesn't make it ok and it never will. Adaptation requires a definite counter to exist in the first place but a lot of weapons in Destiny that have drawbacks are fairly easy to work around especially when meta. A counter to snipers is getting close or flinching them, but sniping is sometimes so stupid that even at close ranges or under fire you can kill targets. Shotguns have short range, so you should keep your distance, is off set by how strong and efficient gap closing is. Sliding, sprinting, invis, overshield, etc all give easy access to a shotguns full power and It's why they are ALWAYS meta. This is just the two most blatant things where in game systems interrupt adaptation and there's a ton more as well. What's the adaptation to stasis? Don't get close...but then get mapped by 120s. Get in close...then get frozen, slowed, or instantly killed. What was the counter to the 600 rpm meta? Move...well they can aim and move too. It's pretty much the same logic all zoning players use in fighting games. They make it extremely annoying and the better player has to do all of the work to NOT get cheesed by it...until you meet another player at the same level as you and adapting to your adaptations. Or you just say -blam!- it and do it yourself. There's never going to be a perfectly balanced game, but bungie literally even said they rotate meta's to keep stuff fresh. And so I'm going to voice that I don't like that shit every single time I can because adaptation and skill boils down to who's better at cheesing the other person with the EXACT SAME LOADOUT.

It is not about metas or what makes a player better/worse... It is about forced metas sprinkled with mostly aim assist. Aim assist in this game paired with a p2p network makes this game frustrating to play. Sure... meta can buy bad players some cheap kills, but skill always finds a way. You are technically 100% correct... But the effects of this aim assist forced meta creates frustrating scenarios all the time. Like all the way back in d1 and the no land beyond extreme bullet magnetism... Players were not good with it.. in fact, the worse players benefited from their random movements plus a moving target. Any and every meta is due to this bullet magnetism outside of the auto meta or body damage friendly numbers. Said bullet magnetism nets kills past cover and according to the p2p.. said range can vary to many feet past cover. Then add in any mod using player... and it just magnified the problem and thus you begin to see so many complaint. The problem with your point... is thinking that every player is thumbless and standing there like true noobs. This is not the case. The majority are your long time players that has died behind cover one too many times or are trying to figure out how a weapon is killing them in half of the time that is possible even with a kill perk active.

23 отв.Изменено (TJ_Dot): 3/30/2021 10:54:54 PMI just can't fathom how someone could slave themselves off to the same carbon copy crap everyone else uses because they decided it was the absolute best in an environment where what matters most is your competency with what your using and circumstances that are in your favor I'd suggest meta hugging is more detrimental to the user if anyone. Originality, integrity, variety, stuff like that pretty much tanks when you start being a follower to ridiculous degrees.
