Nope.
Your unwillingness to part with it is a lot of the reason why Sunsetting is necessary.

Lol, that's as ridiculous a conclusion as it is cynical.

No. It comes from an understanding of what sunsetting is, and why its in loot games. The OPs protests about parting with it---despite him citing his "grind"---has more to do with the unique damage buff that LH and NF get. He doesn't want to give THOSE up..and wants to be able to take those into Trials and Iron Banner (Sunsetting won't stop him from using it in regular Crucible). My point is that the purprose of Sunseting IS to take back the power in those kind of top-of-the-pyramid weapons. So that other weapons become relevant...without having ot BREAK those powerful weapons with a nerf. Instead you cap their item level, so you limit what content they can be taken into. Note how he isn't asking for an exception to be made for his favorite 110 rpm HC, or any other off-meta weapon.

Luna and not forgotten DID ruin crucible (in their prime) but no longer.....

Stop looking backwards and look forwards to the future. It’s not about pinnacles from two years ago. It’s about the powerful weapons Bu for wants to make in the future, and not recreate the problems that Pinnacles caused.
-
Damage perks come and go, NF leveling would no more break the game than a Gnawing Hunger with accurized rounds, snapshot, rampage and range MW would. There are plenty of guns in destiny, silly to think that sunsetting has anything to do with anything other entrenching 'Grind' into the game.
-
Sunsetting isn't about PVP. It about power creep and loot incentive in PVE. PvP just shares teh same sandbox, and Bungie wants to be able to control which perks and wich loadouts have access to end-game PVP like Trials and Iron Banner. The OP is free to use NF to his heart's content in regular Crucible and the Survival Playlist.
-
man u can stop spewing bull crap power creep isn’t real in this game and one way to tell that is they said they reissuing all the weapons with same perk rolls so i turn makes sunsetting pointless
-
1. No....because anyone who got stuck trying to get through Pre-nerfed The Reckoning knows that power creep (and Bungie's pushback against it) was very real. As was anyone trying to fight people in the Crucible who had LHs and NFs....and you didn't have one. 2. And if Bungie is stupid enough to reissue NF and LH....then I'll join you in grabbing a pitchfork.
-
never had problem always did matchmaking the problem is everyone is kinda trash at this game
-
Stop pounding your chest so hard, you'll bruise it. As long you ran the gear that the Reckoning was designed for, the content wasn't that difficult. Stand in a Well with Phoenix Protocol. Tether all the ads with Orpheus rig and Shadowshot to create orbs and give crowd control. Take out the bosses before they stomp you off the bride, while you face-tank their damage. Rinse and Repeat. The issue is that the content was so stupid and one-dimensional that it was BASICALLY the only way to play it. Got to the point where I'd go to orbit if there were any Titans in the lobby. Because---before thebuff to Ward of Dawn---they were simply a liability. One less Well of Radiance or Shadowshot on the fireteam. Sunsetting is coming beause the community isn't interested in playing that kind of content....and Bungie isn't interested in making it.
-
no sunsetting is happening becuase bungie has lost all creativity and need to find ways to increase game time by making u regrind all the time
-
Yr missing his point and mine - if Bungie valued our time, they could have added another quest step/catalyst etc. to allow to work towards keeping NF LL relevant. People form connections to the guns in Destiny, in fact Bungie is counting on it... Taking valuables away from ppl needlessly is foolish.
-
Изменено (TheArtist): 10/28/2020 7:32:50 PM"Valuing your time" in a loot game doesn't mean you get to keep overpowered gear forever. Especially gear that TERRORIZED the Crucible for over a year, and made every other hand cannon----no every other PRIMARY weapon----non-competitive.
People form connections to the guns in Destiny, in fact Bungie is counting on it... Taking valuables away from ppl needlessly is foolish.
Yes...to the first point....and if Bungie wants this game to reach its potential as an "action MMO", they need to stop indulging that. No...to the second point....if doing so risks destroying the game. Because those people won't gratefully hang around the game when it becomes unsatisfying in the long term, because you avoided making them mad in the short term. Which is the reason why Bungie is having to walk unlimited infusion back in the first place. Bungie gave in to pressure to indulge that mindset...and the player base isn't cutting them any slack on the problems that doing that has created in other parts of the game. A famous psychiatrist once said that "Neurosis is a substitute for legitimate suffering". The point was that the mental illness was just an attempt to avoid an unavoidable painful problem, that only succeeded in creating an avoidable painful problem. So the only way to get better is to stop trying to AVOID the first problem..and accept the pain of dealing with it. Which in this case, is the need to sunset weapons in a loot game...and if you're going to play the PVP that is PART of a loot game..... ...that is going to splash on you.
-
Blah, blah, blah... A famous psychiatrist huh? Lmao - you're silly. Sunsetting isn't new to D2 Kelly, just ask Aetheon or Crota. Bungie brought exotics fwd, they could do the same with NF and a few pinnacles - hell, why not make it an exotic like they did with Imago Loop? Name one weapon that took 9 months to acquire, (RNG notwithstanding) A fool leans upon his own misunderstanding Kelly.

What IS new is that Bungie is finally being OPEN about doing it, and making it a PERMANENT process in the game. Rather than a one-time, RANDOM event. Which is why so many players are losing their minds over this.
Bungie brought exotics fwd, they could do the same with NF and a few pinnacles - hell, why not make it an exotic like they did with Imago Loop?
Because Bungie thought that they could sidestep the problem of the White Nail perk being over powered by taking the Legendary Black Hammer sniper rifle, and bringing it back as the exotic "Whisper of the Worm" sniper. And by moving the weapon from the special weapon slot....to the heavy weapon slot. Only to realize that it didn't fix anything. Over powered is overpowered, and all they wound up doing was bringing a broken weapon back to the game...and having to NERF it in exactly the same way they had to nerf it the first time. Which is just one of a PARADE of mistakes Bungie has made with the RPG elements of this game. WHICH WAS THE POINT OF THE QUOTE. Bungie refused to accept that the weapon was simply BROKEN...and needed to be taken out of the game and not come back. Instead they tried to get around having to deal with that fact...and just ended up RECREATING the same problem. Life is simpler when you deal with your PROBLEMS DIRECTLY, when they're small. Rather than trying to take the easy way out...and only succeeding in magnifying the problems, and making them even HARDER to deal with.
A fool leans upon his own misunderstanding Kelly.
Only i'm not the fool here.

Good luck with that.

Yr last PVP was Control on august 14th. And you feel entitled to weigh in on a pvp weapon with literally the longest grind in Destiny. What a fn joke - just cause he was yr psychiatrist, doesn't make famous - overly optimistic perhaps.

Изменено (TheArtist): 10/28/2020 8:52:03 PMhttps://destinytracker.com/destiny-2/profile/psn/kellygreen45/overview I get so tired of this. Because I don't play this game's PVP, yet I still am in the Top 7% in the world in the number of Crucible kills....and Top 6% in the world in the number of Crucible assists. I earned my own Luna's Howl. So I know how these weapons play....and had a LOT of experience playing against them when I didn't have one. The weapon was BROKEN by design, and it terrorized the the Crucible for over a year. I got mine after its first NERF....and I still laughed at how absurdly overpowered it was compared to everything else except Recluse. (Whcih was a whole other level of ridiculously overpowered. Titan with OEM and Recluse with both their perks proc'ed was practically unkillable.) So Sunseting will make MY Luna's Howl and MY Recluse and MY Redrix' Broadswords non-end game viable....and I'm FINE with that. About -blam!-ing time, Bungie. No. THE -blam!-ING JOKE here is how many of you "Crucible bad-asses" want to crow about how good you are in PVP, but don't want to give up your overpowered crutches. Please.
-
Lol - you ARE a strange bird. We all have good games and bad games Kelly. Do you have NF or are just trolling? Equip it for us - this is yr chance to restore some of yr tattered credibility.
-
Изменено (TheArtist): 10/28/2020 9:51:52 PMNot Forgotten is simply a better version of Luna's Howl. https://www.light.gg/db/items/153979396/lunas-howl/ https://www.light.gg/db/items/153979399/not-forgotten/ If you want to look at my Warlock main character you'll see that that I have my Luna's Howl, My Redrix's Broadsword equipped, and my Recluse is in my Energy storage slot. So I'm not interested in hearing anyone WHINE about "My Grind", because my LH (and my other Crucible Pinnacles)is/are going to be Sunset alongside the Not Forgotten. ...and the only difference between my Howl and the Not Forgotten is the NF has more range and more vertical recoil compared to the higher stability and faster reload that the Luna's Howl has. Both hand cannons are the only weapons that have Magnificient Howl. Both of those hand cannons were **crutches**. Any questions?
-
Shame that Bungie won't make the Broadsword more relevant, Desperado doesn't work the way it needs to - love thise iron sights. LH - meh, long way away from NF. Kudos for responding - yr forgiven. Byeeeeeee
-
Opportunistic citations of psychoanalytic theory aside... comparing Luna to NF, as if they are the same to begin with, for the purposes of arguing in favor of sunsetting NF specifically in this thread— this is a joke. NF was and is much more difficult to acquire.
