Since the current new light experience is being stripped from the game, new players do not have much to look forward to. The only thing they can do is walk around patrol areas and play playlist activities. The Leviathan raids were not everyone’s favorites but at least the new light players could experience a raid, the activity that draws people to destiny. I think it is time forsaken became free, the expansion came out in 2018 and everyone that wanted to buy it has already done so. I am not going to tell my friend to spend 25 dollars for 2 year old content when they can spend 40 for beyond light and be up to date with everyone else. Forsaken was such a good experience as well. If new light players were introduced to destiny with the content in forsaken, if I were in their shoes i would be hooked. If New light players found the game exciting then they might continue to be a part of the community of destiny. Just my thoughts.
