Dear Bungie,
Please do not succumb to the pressure. This lore has been available for 2 years now (this user has been playing since at least October 2019)....more than enough time to get the lore entries for this seal. Some things need to remain exclusive for those of us that put in the time & effort while it was available.
Sincerely,
A D1 beta veteran.

You know I am making this also for the newer players who might not have been playing as long as me. Like people who would've started this year or this season? This isn't possible to earn within one season and you would know that if you're a veteran at the game. Learn it's more than just me this post is aimed at.

Just because I don’t agree with your argument doesn’t mean you need to downvote me.
-
Just because you don't agree with my view on this situation doesn't mean you need to downvote me. :)
-
Truth be told, I down voted your posts.
-
Then Sorry to @CantSilenceMe for believing that and thanks for owning up. I thought you upvoting but guess you clicked the wrong arrow. :P
-
Yup. I misclicked (didn’t even mean to click any arrow....but i got fat fingers).
-
Understandable.
-
Do you seriously think I would complain about your downvoting while subsequently downvoting you? Think about it.
-
Of course I know it’s more than just about you. Hence why I also mentioned how long it’s totally been around & should only be exclusive to those of us who’ve done it. People who are just now joining the game, or who didn’t/couldn’t bother doing some things earlier should know they will be missing out on some things that are time-gated or exclusive to older accounts.
-
Yeah but if they joined and wanted to get it because they want the seal. It's not their fault they cannot get it. Yeah, they could've got the game before and got it. But why take away something that they should be able to get as the Dreaming City is staying. I can understand locking the seal away from people who don't have the Lore books from the planets going away. That is fair. They didn't put in the effort and missed out. But taking away from others who have all the lore books from going away planets isn't fair when they cannot control how long it takes to get 11 Lore Books.
-
So how do you/we know that people can’t get the lore entries after this season? From all I’ve seen, it’s just the seal that can’t be obtained (but maybe I’ve missed something).
-
That's why this post is made... To let people obtain the seal that is getting locked but then again the TWAB isn't super clear if it's locked or not. By the wording in the TWAB it's getting locked. What isn't fair on people who might have missed a week due to personal problems/Joining the game after it was getting locked, etc, etc. Yes you can get the lore Entries after the season. Just not the seal.
-
The TWAB (from what i did read) only said the seal would be unobtainable, not the lore triumphs.
-
Yes... Why I made this post... People hearing my friend who is new to the game unable to get it due to time gate made me see how it can be a problem. Who wants the SEAL, not just the lore triumphs. The Dreaming City Lore is staying.
-
Yes, DC is staying...but other areas arent. Which is the main reason the seal is going. As part of the seal will definitely not be completable come Nov 10 (or whatever date Beyond Light releases).
-
Yes. So why punish players who put in the time to get 9/10 books completely? You shouldn't lock the seal from people who have the books going away. If they need something on the DC don't lock the seal from them as it just makes it unfair. "Oh, you put in the time and effort to get all books going away? Well tough we're taking that time and effort away because you require something locked on a planet that isn't changing in the slightest!" What is unfair. If they don't lock the seal then it's fine because people can work towards getting the books required.
-
For the exact same reason that people get locked out of triumphs/seals for other things. Regardless, You’ve got your opinion on this & I’ve got mine.
-
-
It’s going away regardless. Let’s say you were going for the season title, forerunner but you join two weeks before the season ends. You’re new and don’t know any better, should they extend the season to be fair so you can get the title?
-
Is that time-gated to 200+ Days? No. It's not. It's within the season. If you focus on the seasonal stuff you can get the seal. Because everything unlocks within the season and isn't forcing you to play the game for 200+ Days to give you a lore piece in order to get a full book. You can't make a good compare because nothing can compare to waiting 200+ Days to get a full book.
-
It’s bare time gated to a minimum 21 days in a 160 day season. By comparison the chronicler title took 231 days to complete in a time period of 799 days. It’s a fair comparison on a smaller scale. In other words it ain’t changing.
-
I would agree if they let us know sooner than they might have PLANNED to get rid of it around 231 Days beforehand. And a lot of players didn't come in Forsaken but afterwards what cuts down the days even more. New Lights can easily get overwhelmed by how it was delt. Not making it clear and not many people can easily understand. Yes, it's not reasonable to say so far behand but still not fair to just take that chance from a lot of new players...
-
Look man I get it sucks but with games that evolve or have seasons it’s entirely unreasonable to expect to be able to get everything. Since the announcement of the content vault you should have realized that the title was leaving as the means to acquire it would be leaving too.
-
Trust me. I wouldn't be annoyed... But it being locked to a single lore book per 3 weeks kinda sucks. DCV wasn't announced until 1 hour before the season starts and I was focused on other seals then. Like Flawless raids, etc. Thinking they were more worth my time as Season of Undying I was taking a while to get used to the game and Season of Dawn was trying to find a clan and friends to play with. After that, I focused on the seals. Other players might have the same problem and might be left on the same page as me. Maybe reward the people who put in effort to collect the lore and not the players who haven't gotten any of the lore books. Something would be better than locking it away.
-
Naw reward the people who took the time to complete it, that’s the point. Earn it and equip it by nov 10 or move on. Honestly seems fair, just cause your priorities where else where why should you get something many others put in the work for. Would you feel ok with them saying well we will give everyone black smith and shadow despite not doing a flawless raid because they tried?
