The sunset is the alternative. Otherwise we would have been getting d3 and that would have meant those weapons were gone forever unless they release them back in exotic form like the way they did black hammer. Weapons just aren’t in a great place and sunsetting exists to control power creep where everyone uses same weapon because only alternative is make something significantly more damage. Like how would you have someone “upgrade” from mountaintop with a new gun. Same weapon bigger explosion? Extra round in magazine? That is the problem they are trying to solve here and unfortunately that means some guns need to be axed to do it otherwise the only option is to add more broken guns to make people upgrade. Note: This is not an invitation for discussion on playing the game how you want as most posts like this devolve into. If we got to play the game how we want then I would still be using black hammer fatebringer and gjallarhorn even now, which functionally means all guns added since then were useless.

It describes the noun which is "alternative". The option to sunset has had a lot of resistance primarily. It's about time we explored the ideas of walking in the middle. So. Name your alternative to sunsetting.
Note: This is not an invitation for discussion on playing the game how you want as most posts like this devolve into. I read this quotation above and then reread it to understand simply what you are trying to convey. Poor choice of words. Very poor. I will tell you this: The... IDEA... or invitation to use your word... of telling people not to discuss the OPTIONS... is the exact opposite of discussion and never going to work. Ever. Therefore, you... and all members of any online community for any game, media outlet, etc. are encouraged... optimistically... hearkened... promised... invigorated... and many other synonyms in the English language allowed to discuss ANY topic you desire. Any at all. Never... make another post like yours just now (the quotation bit especially) for the rest of your life. It's never correct and it is NEVER going to be correct.

It's about time we explored the ideas of walking in the middle. So. Name your alternative to sunsetting.
Since you understand the definition of alternative I’m proud of you. Then you must understand that the sunset IS the alternative of d3. Your alternative option for sunset was D3, which was scrapped. I understand your complaints and that you hate the sunset and want alternatives to it happening in d2, but that does not solve the power creep problem. How would you suggest upgrading mountaintop in a way someone actually uses new version? Extra ammo in mag? Bigger explosion? More damage? All these changes undervalue any new additions to the game because there is no alternative, which sucks I wholeheartedly agree, but there is no real alternative to deletion or we just end up increasing damage of everything and ever increasing hp of every enemy in the game to compensate. Any discussion that devolves into ad hominem attacks is pointless and goes nowhere and just proves you do not wish to discuss, but rather seek agreement, but ad hominem attacks are a great way to prove your opinion. I never told you not to discuss your options. My exact words were “this is not an invitation for discussion on playing the game how you want”, which is in reference a mantra most sunset references on these very forums post, because bungie said “play the game how you want to play.” Not wanting to change your guns is completely justifiable, but that conversation is a dead end hence why I said I didn’t want to discuss it. Any of the many other sunset posts have many comments that discuss how disgruntled everyone is about not being able to use their favorite guns. I have had my fair share that were good to use, but fact is most of them are at the point no one will ever use anything else unless it causes problem I noted previously.
Never... make another post like yours just now (the quotation bit especially) for the rest of your life. It's never correct and it is NEVER going to be correct.
Going on a long rant about my wording in an elaborate manner then saying that is a nice double standard, but based on your comment here I can assume any “discussion” with you is guaranteed to result in nothing but ad hominem attacks if it’s not complete agreement with what you believe. I won’t be continuing this “discussion” if all it involves is ad hominem attacks, but I suggest you learn how a discussion works if you ever wish to have a meaningful one. Ad hominem attacks are not discussion.
