In this week's TWAB, Stormcaller top, Striker bottom, and Arctrider Bottom are listed as dominant and will be changed in next season.
I do not understand how Bungie thinks that the Stromcaller top is as effective and popular in pvp as the other two subclasses. From my PVP experiences, Stromcaller top is far from popular and far from dominant inside 6v6 modes, let along 3v3s.
This subclass is surely powerful, Arcweb in one of the more annoying grenade abilities in the game, but it doesn't defeat the fact it's far from overwhelmingly effective in securing kills. I have played Stromcaller top in PVP for almost a year, it's apparent that you get more grenade kill while staying in a safer place of the map. In my experience (a lot of), you can only see some sort of kill if you catch 3 guardians with full health inside a storm grenade, and that is not even consistent.
Just pause and think, how often do you actually see Arcweb in your guardian down screen? As a player that plays a decent amount of PVP, I found that it's not frequent at all.
It's also apparent that Stromcaller top has an extremely effective super, especially with the Crown of Tempest. I would be happy to see Bungie make some changes around exotic as such (Crown, Contraverse...), but not the base viability of this subclass itself.
This subclass has advantages and drawbacks: Chain lightning, teleport during super, extended melee; rare appearance in 3v3s, weird melee registration, no damage resistance upon activation of your super (you cannot use it as a brain dead get-away solution). IMO, top tree Stormcaller is the one of the most balanced subclasses in the game.

Whenever they nerf hunters or titans, they feel obligated to nerf warlocks. Yet when nerfing warlocks, they murder them and there is not so much as a peep about the other classes. Their ‘balance’ is garbage, as proven by them taking 3 years to finally adjust the warlock melee, something that is simple to fix yet crucial for class balance, especially when warlocks are the weakest and least used class by far. Also, they really need to stop making dresses for them. I know that Bungie has feminism shoved deep up their asses, but still. You need to recognise who your core customers are. It is no wonder that you are failures of the gaming world.
