Change my mind
Casuals & People who are accepting of the pile of sh!t they’ve just been shown in that stream, please explain to me: What & Why, you are looking forward to in season of dawn.
I have personally lost all hope for this game and this company and I’m past the point of caring. I pray I’m wrong and bungie are hiding a lot of content but the odds are looking very slim.
I woke up this morning thinking to write a essay on what’s wrong with the game and how to fix it, but I remembered, it won’t do anything and I’ll be wasting my time. Now I just want to know why people are excited and what reasons are there for them to still be playing the game. Personally the only reason I play is because my friends play it and without them, I don’t think I’d touch this game again.
Another reason I personally play is that in fear of Bungie finally releasing a good DLC and I’m too far behind the light cap that I wouldn’t be able to compete in a day 1 raid.
It’s heart breaking to see a game franchise I have played for the past 5+ years everyday and had some of the greatest memories of my life on go down the drain like this, and there’s just nothing I can do about it. I apologise if any of this comes across rude or passive aggressive, I’m just lost for words and I’m just hoping I’m wrong in that this DLC is just re skins and dead content, I just had to vent my frustration out somewhere
So please guardians, why & what are you looking forward to in season of dawn?

I'm not looking forward to it. Dattokeep was garbage. This is just a continuation of Dattokeep.

39 отв.Изменено (TheArtist): 12/5/2019 2:12:55 PMTwo characters in the high 970s? You need to take a break from the game, and go outside. Seriously. Simply, I'm looking forward to the new season because of: 1. New stuff to do. 2. New abilities for subclasses. 3. New gear 4. new combat mechanics through the Seasonal artifact. OTOH, what I'm getting from your post are the musings of someone who is REALLY over-invested emotionally in this game, and whose expectations for a TEN DOLLAR content drop are jaw-droppingly unrealistic. I got coffee and a muffin for breakfast this morning and spend $5.40. The meal lasted about 30 mins. If I buy a season of TV on Apple, I'm going to spend about $30 for what is probably going to be between 15-25 hours of entertainment. You will probably get 100 hours or more of entertainment from what Bungie advertised yesterday....but you still----greedily---want more. Ten cents an HOUR (or less) for high-level, interactive entertainment....and you STILL feel like you are being "cheated" somehow. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!? Gamers at times are just ridiculous. We act like this....and then complain when developers get sick of dealing with this and withdraw into silence.
-
Sounds like you are more of a major content release kind of player. Maybe just wait for those, you'll probably be more happy.

-
Eh, don’t really feel robbed, cause I know what I’m paying for. I’ve played many games before destiny and few give us what bungie has, so I’m not too worried
-
I’m about to pay $10 for a couple hours or so of new content. After that it’s regrind all the same activities that we’ve been grinding since September. That’s the business model currently in place. Take a break. You’re not going to miss out on anything. We’re talking a couple hrs of new content and being able to drive your sparrow on Mercury. I’m sure you’ll survive.

22 отв.Изменено (Hipposplatamus): 12/6/2019 5:07:18 PMI'm a die hard fan. Still going strong. I have plenty of money (for a 17 year old, that is). Plus they're cosmetics. They're not something you need to buy to do well, they're something you will buy if you like how it looks and if you want to support Bungie.
-
10 отв.No one got forced to buy anything cosmetic.

Doesn’t matter what light you are you can always come back. I stopped playing for a year only playing events and came back during solstice caught up completed everything, generally for the season once you hit the cap where only Pikachu engrams boost you really have don’t have to go any further

3 отв.Изменено (KiLoMatt34): 12/6/2019 12:41:44 PMSeason of Dawn gives me plenty of content. New activity looks enjoyable, another 100 tiers to grind, seasonal triumph title to go for, exotic quests...plenty for me. Also why are you saying they robbed you of money? You know exactly what your paying for.
-
I agree but at the end of the day it’s just a game. Take a break, play something else for a while then come back.

you're wrong D1 - 4546 hrs D2 - 1644 hrs still here and staying

1 ответIt’s the die hards that are funding this, actually. They’d much rather a year of disposable content (and only play one) and keep Bungie on fumes
-
6 отв.Yes, but don't you think that maybe you've played so much you got burnt out ? You have 2 979 characters. I can't even imagine how much time you've spent. Try other games ?

You said it yourself in the last full paragraph. You’ve played this game for over five years every day and have some of your best memories in it. That’s a LOT of time and it’s a ton of work from Bungie. It’s bound to wind down or at least slump a little. It might see another burst of genius but maybe not and it can’t go on forever.

6 отв.Изменено (Jet2Holiday): 12/5/2019 6:59:49 PMI have been playing this game pretty much every day since it release back in D1. I started on ps3. To be honest, I am just here to obscure the crippling depression running in the background. I am mostly a solo player and will LFG if needed, though I'd rather attempt to do stuff solo, like when I soloed that strike to kill the witch for OG thorn quest in d1... it took me several hours but oh well. So that's what I am here for. Am I happy content with the direction bungo is going? Not really, but like I said I am here to silence the voices of sadness and loneliness.
-
Yeah I think I'm going to skip dawning like I did with black Armory. Nothing for me in it and I haven't even finished this seasons story missions yet.
-
3 отв.I’ve also been here since D1. Over 4000 hours. 700 raids. It’s safe to say I love destiny and no matter what. The stream was incredibly disappointing but I think that has a lot more to do with the stream itself not the game. Half the time was spent asking the stupidest questions they’ve ever asked on stream. “How do you relate to saint 14 as a character” I don’t care about shit like that. Show me the game, tell me new things about the game. We’ll see when the dlc comes out if the sundial is a good enough improvement on menagerie to hold my attention another 3 months. It likely won’t but I’ve also convinced myself that this is just going to be the years “bad” dlc. Aka this years Dark Below, Curse of Osiris, and Jokers Wild. I’m personally more upset that there isn’t a new raid/dungeon more than anything but at the end of the day Destiny is my favorite game to play and I’ll always come back here to wreck some aliens with cool guns. As for why I’m excited? Well there’s a titan who’s known for bashing kell heads in and “Time Travel!” So the lore is gonna be juicy.
-
New weapons, new armor, new activities, new cosmetics, sparrows, shells, shaders, etc. etc. etc. Basically the same thing we look forward to in every content drop. Sure, there’s still a long way to go before it’s perfect. I wish the loot was a little more extensive and the activities had a lot more replayability, but at the end of the day I’m still looking forward to playing more Destiny because it’s still my favorite game.
-
2 отв.Robbed would mean I didn’t get anything. I’m getting exactly what I paid for, $10 content every 3 months.

The reason Bim looking forward for SOD, is I don't view the game as just a game, I see a world in which I woke up in have zero knowledge. I then traversed the world discovering the past. Then learning of the LEGENDARY TITAN SAINT-14. Only hearing of his feats I now get to see him for the first time. Before I played this game I played the Fan Favorites 1 of star wars, and Kotor 1&2. Played them to many times to count. I began to not feel the same after that. Then I discovered a World that felt like a Medieval Syfy world. I can't change your mind. I can only say I love this game, no other game in my mind can come close to what Destiny is. There was one attempt but that failed big time. " Things Never happen the same way twice" the bonds that we build, the friends we make, you learn to overcome trials, you help ones reach the Top. The Past is the Past, The Future cannot be seen, Worry for only Today. I'm not a Fanboy, I'm a FAN!
-
I only look forward to the pass part now and getting the armor and rewards there. The rest I can care less about. If anything at least Byf gets more lore and I get my armor.
-
3 отв.I won't say I'm accepting it, or that I'm excited. Destiny 2 is just one of very few games that I enjoy playing. Would be better with friends, but oh well. If there's anything to look forward to in general, it'll be the soundtrack I guess. Maybe that's what we're really paying for...
