Just enjoy the ride, it's better than being squashed into the ground. They aren't changing it, pve would be a shotgun and sword mess.

Shotguns and swords need addressed anyways, but that is a different issue altogether. As for getting pancaked, I don't see how it'd be too much worse unless the boss was glued to the floor and could insta-kill melee (much of which seems stuck to raids or nightfalls). Otherwise, getting launched away seems to be a bigger detriment since you are forcibly disengaged and relocated.

The stomp goes out in every direction though, which can send multiple guardians away. I think technically it would be challenging to have the boss ai react to multiple guardians at close range. This solves that problem.

I can see it being a solution to bosses that have little mobility mechanics such as walkers, but some are more than capable of moving around the area or simply float, and some bosses come with immunity phases to deny all damage outright. I won't deny that it could be challenging to make an AI dedicated to reacting to multiple close range Guardians, but that's where beta testing is supposed to be a thing. They already have a few bosses that don't stomp you immediately and they often have different mechanics to avoid being immediately swarmed with bullets. They can use those bosses as something to brainstorm from.
