I think light benefits in iron banner is a good thing but I feel is should still be based on some skill not just light. Iron banner is supposed appeal to pvp base but in order to get that high in light to compete you really have to grind on all characters.

It's a pinnacle activity. That's why it has pinnacle gear. If you don't like it, go elsewhere.
-
Its billed as a endgame activity and the rewards are pinnacle.
-
It won't matter when the next one come along and everyone is maxed out and have all the mods they want.
-
Ever take on a Warlock in a healing rift when you're severely underleveled? It isnt at all possible to kill them.

I played last night for about 3 hours starting off at around 925 light. There were plenty of opponents higher light level than me but I still came away with a 2.5 KD. It’s frustrating when you get killed by something you’d usually walk off or when it takes 3 melees to kill someone. But I think the balance between difficulty and rewards is a good one.

You must not have been around for the first few iron banners on d1.

IB is a grind. That's kind of the point.

Thats IB thing, the light level advantage. Otherwise it would just be control.
