I bought the collectors edition of Destiny 2 when it released, and stopped playing it maybe a year after release. I’ve heard nothing but great things about it recently and want to start it up again. I no longer have my Xbox, but I do have a PC now. Since I got all the DLC etc with the collectors edition, there’s no way I’d buy it again (I know some of its free).
Is it possible to have my copy transfer over? I still have everything for the collectors edition, discs etc, and I know I can’t just insert them into the PC, but I didn’t know if there was a way to transfer my copy.

There is no way to transfer licenses between platforms. Just like every other game, you must own the license on the platform you want to play on. Microsoft is not going to take money out of their own pocket and give it to Steam ... which is basically what you are asking them.

Game licenses cannot be transferred between platforms. If you wish to play Destiny on PC, you will need to purchase PC licenses for any of the paid content that you are wanting to play. Your existing Xbox licenses are only valid on Xbox. This is standard across the games industry, as game licenses are bound to the platform they are purchased for.
