That would have been a good Hard mode mechanic, but Bungie got rid of raid difficulty options.

It would be a good an interesting mechanic, but Bungie wont implement it because this is old content and there's no need to change or fix it. I believe all post Leviathan raids were intended to have some sort of prestige mode, but they canceled that because they couldn't figure out a good way to do the mechanics. Take the final SoTP boss encounter. On the left and right side of the map are two plates that look like they may have serveres a purpose, but dont. Bungie had intended for a prestige mode, but cancelled in favor of Flawless runs.

That's true, but to be honest, if it were like this in hard mode I would just raid hard
