I've seen multiple users claim that being created in God's image and having dominion over creation, justifies humanity's ill treatment of animal friends.
But let me ask u this: does being created in God's image justify acting in ways that are contrary to God's nature? We can all agree that any industrialized farm is not a pleasant life experience for animals. Intensive farming of pigs and chicken is especially horrendous. In what way does God's image justify the creation of animal concentration camps? Even after the Christian notion of "the fall" taking place, has your God treated you like a chicken or a swine?
If you are created in God's image, should you not live and act in a way that is like your God? Assuming God gave man dominion over nature, does God not have dominion over man? Is man's dominion in any way like God's? Do Christians support or reject man's handling of divine stewardship? No part of God's dominion is in any way like a modern death camp farm. God's dominion was a garden, and man tended that garden. Now man turns that garden into a prison for other souls.
And Christians are fine with this because why?
Because sin? The world is sinful therefore you can partake in the sin?
Because God said man could eat meat? So it's ok to torture an animal for it's short miserable life before you eat it?
To me, the ideals of your faith should make you care about other animals, and about the world. But because God gave you "dominion", you somehow doublethink this stewardship into justification of things that would put a smile on Satan's face. If your faith is true, the world as you accept it is a bitter irony. U use all that your God gave you to justify all that God is not.

Look, i know you’re disappointed with baloo in the live action jungle book movie, but it’s time to stop.

I’m not sure any Christian advocates for animal abuse. That’s actually condemned in the Bible. That doesn’t mean we can’t eat them. You act like we’re hypocrites, we’re not. God isn’t abusive and I agree we shouldn’t be towards animals. However, we can eat them as they are under our dominion.

You seem to think that thinking your a animal is ok in the eyes of God. NOT!!!! 2. People mock you because you take your “therian” bullshit and throw it everywhere where no one wants to hear it. If you only mentioned it once and left it alone and didn’t throw it on every single post you make you wouldn’t get this much hate. I in fact wouldn’t care one bit if you did that. 3. Simple. You don’t like it here? Gtfo. Plain and simple. 4. If you seriously think that these normal people are bad just because that they think it’s hilarious that you think your a bear then you are dead wrong. They just think that your stupid for even thinking such a thing. 5. Your trying to say that we use God and our religion to insult and make fun of you. BULLSHIT! We are making fun of you because you think your a bear. Nothing else or less. 6. Your interpretation of The Religion Of God (Christianity Catholicism Jewish And some other ones I can’t remember off my head) is completely wrong. Nothing in there says that man has dominion over anything else higher. Sure we do have dominion over things like a cow for instance. That’s just because we have a big and sophisticated brain. 7. For all you fucking know a Scientologist could come on here say they are one once and not get any hate at all for it. A Satanist??? They would get more hate then you. And banned for doing what you are doing. 8. Your interpretation of Satan is completely wrong as well. Satan only has as much power as you give him. And that ain’t a lot for some people. 9. You saying that we run the world like a modern death camp is stupid. Sure I have seen a meat processing plant once. Disgusting place. But that’s just because I don’t like entrails.
I love a good steak. I had a ribeye last night. Lol.
10. Most people don’t treat “animal friends” like bullshit. They aren’t our friends. A white tiger would crack open my skull like a can and eat my everything like they didn’t have a care in the world. 11. We can’t act or live in a way like our God. He was the only perfect being besides The Messiah. Can’t get better than that. If someone actually lives a non sinful life I would believe it in Heaven and treat them the same as The Messiah. 12. God didn’t give us dominion over nature. He made us to serve out his purposes and to carry out his will. (Since a big awesome bearded guy walking around Earth doing stuff with magic isn’t that good for people) 13. The World wasn’t a garden. The only actual Garden Was Eden. And that doesn’t exist anymore I believe. That or it’s gone forever. 14. If you seriously think that we treat animals bad then you need a trip to a farm. Your opinion and argument along with your reasons are invalid and bullshit. 15. This is 12 minutes of my life I will never get back thanks to your bullshittery ass post. Thanks a lot BEAR MAN!!!
-blam!- THIS SHIT IM OUT!

If he responds it is gonna be hilarious.
Изменено (Loot): 8/14/2019 8:06:16 PM... Well obviously you don't know shit about the farming industry, lucky for you, I do so let me straighten things out for you... 1. Cows and pigs, only spend a small portion of their lives in a feed lot, the feed lot is to simply make them gain weight. 2. No torture goes on at the feed lots, the animals are kept in a confined space and simply fattened until they are ready for slaughter. 3. Is it entirely pleasant for the animal? No, but life goes on, this is how it works. 4. I don't recall ever reading in the Bible, "Thou shalt not confine animals in a small space so you can get them ready for slaughter" 5. God does have dominion over us, but it's not like how man dominates animals, he gives us free will, animals are not made in the likeness of God so they do not have the same rights as we do. 6. God basically gave man animals and said be good stewards of them, part of that is population control, and also making them useful.
not included in the DLC
Изменено (Uncanny_Vale): 8/14/2019 12:24:49 PMI’m not a Christian so obviously I don’t think we are “made in god’s image”. But I do agree with you that modern day factory farming is terrible. Not only is it cruel to animals but it’s also unhealthy for us. Because they keep these animals in such close proximity to each other they are much more prone to infections and disease. To counter this many modern farming industries give their animals large amounts of antibiotics. This overuse of antibiotics is causing bacteria to become resistant to them. Modern factory farming is partly responsible for the rise in antibiotic resistant superbugs. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-drug-resistant-bacteria-travel-from-the-farm-to-your-table/

Umm... didn’t god murder like millions of people. I don’t think he gets to criticize us for surviving. Not to mention in the Bible, it’s stated he put animals on this earth so we could have food. For claiming to be an animal, you understand very little about how ecosystems work, and the importance of the food chain

Изменено (Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds): 8/14/2019 1:25:06 PMI’m not religious, but if I look at it under the assumption that there is a god, this means that it created an existence where consumption of things that are alive in some way is necessary. Also, sentient living things fear being eaten and are wired to avoid it at all costs. Seems like a cruel combination to me. If this is all true, since none of us get to choose to exist in this incredibly harsh existence that also tries to kill us in countless ways, then I don’t think it’s unreasonable to demand to know why it is this way. From the source. From this supposed creator that made it this way. If “he” fails to answer this demand, then at best he is indifferent. At worst, malevolently cruel. All that being said, considering this IS the way things are regardless of whether or not it was willed by a powerful entity, I don’t see anything wrong with eating meat. And with THAT being said, I think the methods by which we currently mass produce it are deplorable. I welcome lab grown mean replacing actual livestock. I can only imagine what we would think if some alien species that was significantly more advanced than us, in a way that had them seeing us in the same way that we see dogs, were to show up and start hunting and eating us. There’s a 100% that we would hypocritically cry how wrong and terrible it is despite what we do here on earth to other living things.

1. Food chain. The nature of this existence is that Life has to consume other Life in order to survive. 2. Domestication is symbiotic. When well-cared for, domesticated animals live longer, healthier, and less stressful lives than their wild counterparts. 3. Agri-Business is unethical. But the notion of ethical treatment is a human concept....and our ability to extend compassion to non-humans is something that is uniquely human. Trust me. A house cat feel very little empathy for mice or birds. Nor does my dog care that he scares the shit out of squirrels when he chases after them. To him they’re just another dog toy.

you are right, but not in the way you think. most people ask. why can we eat animals, answer from the bible. God said we could. Then follow up question, why are you tolerating the animal growth centers. typical answer, never said i did. so you are right that we most likely support this, but are wrong semantically, and logically. I have to run to school, will edit
